Any idea why Anne Bancroft and Dustin Hoffman were in New York, and the announcement had to be done in The Tea Room?
@CJBlanda6 жыл бұрын
Miss My Dear Anne Bancroft, there is a hole in my heart, l fell in love with her as a teenager when she was living in the Bronx, and we would talk for hours, she was my water in a big desert of dreams; known then as Anne Marno on CBS television, 'Studio One' her first TV introduction,:Anne Marno as 'Gemma'!
@M.Kpunkt9 ай бұрын
CJBlanda: 💔❤️🩹❤️ oh how beautifully written... I cried when she died... Mel Brooks must have been a really happy husband For me, Anne Bancroft is one of the absolute most beautiful women ever ❤️ not that - classically - beautiful like Liz Taylor or Vivian Leight, I would also consider Ava Gardner (almost) her equal - but for me Anne Bancroft is simply incredibly beautiful and even off the mark of the cameras or stages and in interviews she was so authentic, so original and she had such a warm way of laughing, so real and I saw pictures from a very young Anne to her later years and I think she became more and more with each passing year more beautiful, there was always more of this uniqueness, of what enchanted me about her and made me find her so incredibly beautiful, she wasn't afraid of "ugly" roles and she was simply one of the best in her field , she is simply wonderful - even now, somewhere in a place where she is the inspiration of those who create the angels 💔❤️🩹❤️🪽✨✨✨

It used to be more common in past decades to have the main Oscar ceremony in Los Angeles, and a satellite ceremony in New York. The reason is that many actors/directors were also working on the Broadway stage, and they didn’t want to miss performances by flying back & forth.

easily one of the best screenplays ever written. the story centers around 2 characters who though very different, both their lives make it clear that their views and opinions are not aligned with what's seen as acceptable within their society. we see they both know what it's like to hide in plain sight to cope with feeling marginalized for who they are. brought together by a strange and unknowingly shared twist of fate they meet for the first time...the performances are so good that even though you'd never imagine it, the second they're together on screen the energy shifts and we the audience become immediately invested in their relationship. it's so brilliant because we know feeling that connection is this incredibly subtle unexplainable thing. Neil Jordan not only made us believe the story...he made us CARE.
