I worked for the Buck family at their initial restaurant in the Clayton neighborhood of St. Louis. I met them all on a few occasions. Jack & Joe were beyond gracious and treated everyone with respect and kindness. They are a classy family and I believe Joe calls a great game even if quite differently than his father.

I've never been a big fan of Joe as a sports broadcaster, but he seems like a really genuine, honest guy. Makes me want to give him another chance in the booth.

Getting to say goodbye is such a luxury. Im a fellow St. Louis’n and my father passed recently. I didn’t get a chance to say goodbye and it’s tearing me up inside. I know he knew I loved him but there were things I wanted to say to him regardless. I’ll forever live with this regret and guilt. SO my point is, say what you need to say to your loved ones. And do it as often as possible. Don’t leave ANYTHING unsaid, even if it’s painful. Once you lose that option, you can’t get it back.

That was remarkable, because just a few days after that, Darryl Kyle died and Joe was the one who had to announce that to the country. He showed admirable poise and professionalism.

Joe is the reason I love postseason baseball. He makes it exciting. I don’t care what else he announces, baseball is what he’s best at.

As a Cardinals fan that grew up in the 80s, it's impossible not to love Jack Buck. Same goes for the 60s and 70s. The guy literally tipped a longtime waitress at the horse track a car.

Jack Buck was such a big part of my childhood summers in St Louis. I attended his funeral at the old Busch stadium. They had his casket at home plate and all day his fans filed in through the outfield wagon gate and paid respects

Father and son. That was a nice way for his dad to go. He was not all wired up to machines, he lay there listening to his son calling a ball game. Jack was one of the best, if not the best. His son is on the same path. Joe Buck is excellent for MLB baseball.

This touched my heart! Thank You and God Bless you and Howard. I told my father the same thing so he could be unburdened from things that hold us back in life.I combed his hair before I left, because he was always a “dapper” man. Love transcends distance, including death. Peace to you and your father and Mr.Stern

I’ve always liked Joe Buck. Think he does a great job at calling a game. I definitely prefer him doing baseball over football tho. I really enjoy hearing him call the World Series.

Most of these comments dissing Buck come from either bots or losers who couldn't get through an inning of a broadcast without screwing up.
