We bought our last 2 online from a retailer, Best price Caskets. I am not industrious enough to go to Lowe's, but the stuff and build one. I also wanted steel shells so I am sure those are a bit more difficult to make yourself?

Clinton Dill biscuits in wood working is a wooden foot ball shaped wafer about 2 “ long and 1/8” thick... a special cutter cuts a grove on edges of wood and the biscuits and glue go in the groves .. clamp tight .. make a good solid wood joint..

I build these for sale. I use hide glue and no nails, but use dowels instead of the hardware. Great for green burials or cremation boxes. Sell every one I can make. They are called "toe pincher" style caskets.

I must be missing something, as once the template is drawn, they say to cut out the six side pieces. Where are they getting six pieces? I only see 4 pieces by looking at the template.

does the coffin have to be 72 inches long? what if I want a 48 inch long coffin? would the same measurements for the top and bottom still work?
