Idk anything about this sort of stuff, but my laptops fans have gotten crazy loud and sound unhealthy. I’ve had the laptop for about 4 years it is my sole gaming computer. I wanna clean the fans, should I worry about thermal paste or anything else? Idk what any of these replacements and things do

I don’t know anything either, but if it’s also an alienware, you better do everything you can to cool it down! Mine was always running hot, and I just found out about this whole paste business, and the Alienware command center because the fans didn’t really come set up right for gaming, and it ran much cooler and quieter for a while… I have to attempt the repaste tomorrow, and I know i’ll mess something up, because I always do!

@@scottbaylo good luck! Yeah I got some sort of like cooling pad that I put the laptop on top of and it just kinda acts as the laptops fans now. Hope your repair goes well

@@c1arex Couldn’t find a video walkthrough yet that has the same version as mine, so I might either wait to see if my one friend who understands these things can help with it, or keep looking and hopefully find a video with the same version. I hate that I’ll be stuck with this thing for a long time, but if I ever have the money to get a better computer, I’m going to make sure I look into

@@scottbaylo look into maybe building one? Seems like a cheaper and nowadays plausible option. Probably a lot easier than these Alienware laptops are

@@c1arex Even if I knew how, I have literally no money. I’ll be stuck with this for a long time.

Love the tutorial Just one thing, what to do when a screw doesn’t come out easily It’s not stuck, but the screwdriver keeps slipping out of the grove

This has happened to me before. First thing I did was order a replacement set of screws to replace the stripped one. Second was try different sizes and shapes of screwdrivers to get it out. If that still doesn't work you can use a pair of needlenose pliers and cross your fingers. Laptop screws are so small you shouldn't have to drill and tap it to get it out but that's last resort.
