Great breakdown! My ps4 is running silent now!! Thank you! One thing different on mine was around the 3:45 mark when the power source was removed, there was a black screw holding the motherboard to the heat sink plate. another good guide for paste and cleaning. i wanted to be sure about the paste location and all so this was helpful as well. but i wouldn't recommend cleaning the fan by hand as they usually are like so damn fragile (fans in general) to mingle with fingers and you may get a buzzing fan sound in not so distant future. you dont want another problem when you eagerly trying to get rid of the heat issue. although this buzzing is not %100 i admit but why take the risk? Just use an air compressor to blow the dust on it but at the same time DO NOT FORGET to hold the fan not to turn like a chopper's propeller. cheers ✌

Its fucking crazy how effective this is. I thought it would just quiet it down a little bit, but now the loudest thing about the console is the bluray drive. Trying to play RDR2 on headphones used to be hell. The fans were actually waking up my sleeping baby, 2 rooms over. The (closed) headphones were barely helping. Playing with TV speakers was pretty much impossible. Now i can throw dynamite in the middle of blackwater and its like the PS4 is not even there. It won't hurt your ps4. It will just run a bit hotter. Your ps4 will still work better than before. it's not worth taking apart again. Furthermore, a ps4 prossesor is smaller than a computer. You may need a little less than a Pea. I'm just saying that this is the best method. Spreading results in small air pockets on the heat sink. The method I use results in better heat distribution. Thank you for this, I've been putting off doing this for so long, out of fear that I'd break the console, but I finally worked up the courage to do it. Used Arctic MX-4 & Arctic 1mm thermal pads to replace old pads. For years I've pretty much exclusively played games on PS4 with headphones due to how loud the fan was, after doing this, you can no longer even tell the console is on most of the time, & when I play a game that does kick it into full gear it's the most pathetic quiet sounding fan ever 😂 literally 100 times better. I will say, my PS4 had an extra screw next to the power supply connector that was holding the motherboard & metal housing to the PS4 outer shell, so if you've removed all screws and a piece isn't coming out easily, check for that because yours may be a slightly different model to the one used in the video like mine was 👍

Perfect ! As others, it sounded like a vacuum cleaner. Playing elden ring. Original ps4. Now i can hardly hear it.

Crap I'm not looking forward to doing this in a week when my thermal paste arrives, my anxiety is gonna be through the fucking roof taking out all those little cables and everything

Sükänmi Böllzäcck I did it yesterday, I was scared too but it was actually really easy, my ps4 isn’t a jet now

The only comment I have is the way you applied in the family paste in the way to go is just a spot in the middle a drop to avoid air bubbles

Replaced my thermal paste by a carbon pad, so silent now. It used to be noisy as the Concorde

Great guide. Followed this, used arctic mx-4 compound from amazon and a couple of hours carefully disassembling and cleaning and my ps4 is as good as new. Really helpful. Thanks a lot.

When I changed the thermal paste the sound has become sow quite but the PS4 does have heat is that normal ?
@MVergaraQ3 жыл бұрын
@@mohnad7215 Yes, it's good. It means the paste is helping move the heat from the inside to the outside, so the fan will be quieter but warmer. You should worry if cold air is coming out of the fan, it means there is not a good heat transfer between the processor and the fan, thermal paste is made to improve that transfer
@mohnad72153 жыл бұрын
@@MVergaraQ oh. Thanks actually it gives me hot air it means that the transfer is good
