Hey Howie, I saw James Brown live in Omaha in 1969. An amazing performance that I'll never forget. I went on to play tenor sax in a Motown band and thought that kind of music and that level of performance was gone until I saw Courtney on AGT. Thank you for bringing her onto your podcast! And, I couldn't agree more that this amazing young woman is truly a superstar, one who will bring real rock and roll, played and sang by real musicians, to a whole new generation who only know that drab, artificial substitute for music we call "pop". I can't wait for her music to be released and, more than that, I can't wait to see her live. Thanks again - this was fun!!

I was very shy as a kid and teenager too, they classified me as a "mute", but I talked just fine at home. And there's one thing I hate more than anything, when people treat you like you're stupid just because you're uncomfortable talking, like Lou was doing lol like oh she doesn't love cheese? Must be because cheese is sometimes stinky lmao like she isn't a little kid anymore. Hate that, absolutely hated that. Which would make me double down on not talking to people

I know- I was shy too. It makes it so much more awkward the way they all try to fill the silence and talk over each other. This could have been an amazing interview if they'd had less people- like why do they need Lou? At least he sat back mostly but it was so unnecessary and they needed to chill and let her talk!

in my opinion this was the greatest pod cast i've seen. Poor Courtney, but she handled herself great and Howie is just awesome. I have to agree w/Howie. so, glad that Courtney was on the show, cause it's just good to see her in something recent and new. but she is so funny. she is a prodigy and i can't wait till her "new" music comes out, it will be interesting her approach in music. The tid bit we got from the one song she had on tic toc in away was like the "Cure" which is great, cause their music was awesome. I think she should stay in the Rock Genre, because her voice fits it so well and natural. Sometimes when you try to change that it doesn't go well, and very few pull it off. I think it worried Howie too as from his reaction. I mean yes you don't want to copy the greats and all that, but you don't want to create a music that you are forcing your voice to fit. Yes, she can sing any genre, but that's not the same, because she takes the song from that genre and makes it fit her voice which is a natural gritty rock r&b. And I'm so glad her dad is standing by her and being there, but there are evil people out there, suggestion get a bodyguard. i trust Howie and his staff, but from what other female artist have experienced from "talk show host" were downright sick. Aside from that, I hope she goes on Howie's Pod Cast again. that was great. Such a talent to witness, and I agree w/Howie 100%.

thanks for the love, all my love back. I just want to add that in my opinion Courtney is a Prodigy. My dad used to be in biz for many years playing in a band 20 years, (RIP) and I stumbled onto Courtney this year during the summer looking up a song from Emmylou Harris to play on guitar. I never watch AGT and i seen the headline about this girl, and I was so skeptic, because I've seen great singers, but it's like okay you can sing, but i never see the entertainment Wow, factor. So, i watched it and I nearly broke my guitar when she broke out singing. I just couldn't believe it. I thought the same thing too, Janice Joplin reincarnated. I've seen or heard many female artist who sort of sound like Janice, but not in the way like Courtney, so natural. So, later i did a lot of research into her and figured things out from there. But the thing that amazed me most about her when she was so young singing Etta James "All I could do is cry" song, which you have to listen to. I'm like this girl is a prodigy, because at 8 she shouldn't be singing the way she is singing it's normally impossible. The maturity in her vocals and emotion was just incredible. I couldn't believe the issue on voice kids, and how many people in that country had a difficult time with her entertainment when they have the Beatles, Elton John, and so on. Wow! but, i hear yah, on the Amy W thing. Yah, she shouldn't see it, but she could learn from it. But w/Courtney's Voice it is certainly Rock R&B. I'm so glad you gave her the Golden Buzzer, because she earned it, with all her hard work she's been doing singing. I hope she comes back on your show, she's just the pure definition of a musical Prodigy. Love Ya Howie keep up the cool stuff. :) Happy Holidays & Merry Christmas!

Howie, thanks for doing this with Courtney; you are so spot on and not exaggerating about Courtney's potential as a superstar. She's actually quite animated and funny when she's comfortable--just still a bit gunshy on American media, especially. Courtney looked a little nervous, but that's to be expected given the format of the podcast, which is clearly intended to make the guest uncomfortable in a light-hearted way. Given the rapid-fire and baffling, scattershot questions, I thought Courtney came through looking like a poised, good sport, and friendly 17-year old. Well done, Courtney! 💯👏

Monarch, you can tell Courtney's anxiety by her entire body language. Howie is not a good interviewer in terms of getting information. His style is purely entertainment theater. He publicly admits to ADHD, evidenced by his tangential scattershooting, more talking, less listening. Daughter Jackelyn, on the other hand, is an excellent interviewer.

@@tomupton1921 Yeah, something is not right. Id like to know what lead to this switch of labels and if its better for Courtney or something else is going on. Very disappointing to me. Sounds like three years of work down the drain. Did Sony release her from her contract or what?

@@dabouras How about the original contract ran it's term. 3 years was December 2021. Typical 1st time contract given out by labels. Covid got in the way. May be the best thing that ever happened anyway, whatever the reason was.
@rickrhoden1
@rickrhoden1 2 жыл бұрын
@@dabouras I don't see this as disappointing at all, in terms of Courtney's future. Frustrating, maybe, because of delays and uncertainty. It's been no secret that she's been away from Sony awhile now. I believe she is still under Maverick, a major talent management company, and now she is re-signed to a label. This delay is likely a blessing in disguise, giving Courtney time to mature more, hone her talents and really refine her music for release. 3 years of additional work experience is never a waste, just more to build on. Hopefully, she also has learned much more about the difficult side of the music industry to perhaps avoid potential pitfalls.

It is also rude against the guest to have two extroverts competing amongst themselves of attention without really seeming to be that interested in the guest, as long as they themselves are the main subject of the show. I know Howie apologizes at the end of the video for making Courtney get more nervous, but please, next time you have a nervous guest, or a guest with anxiety, or a shy one, listen to them and don't go on the same way like this time, because I know how Courtney was probably feeling, and she could think all kind of interviews could be this awkward, which is not true. And we want Courtney to release new music, and to talk about it more times!!!

Howie knew just as I sit! Courtney Hadwin it’s only just begun to instill her style of music upon the world! She possesses a style of her very own! Janis Joplin with her style to it! The universe is hers no rabbit, go girl go!🙏🌹💙

I would like to see Jackelyn interview Courtney 1:1 in a more intimate setting; I think we would see Courtney blossom more.

We'd certainly get more from Courtney. Howie didn't give her a chance to answer much, lol Rick. Sorry Howie, but you were right the podcast wasn't going well. But it was still great to see and hear from Courtney.

@@bertpainter8385 Yeah, Howie's style is so bombastic that it makes Courtney a bit overwhelmed, feeling on the spot to try to respond. She is still only 17, after all, and not used to an aggressive style.

@@rickrhoden1 Yes, though its a pattern with Courtney interviews that she is highly restricted as to what she can say. Drives me nuts. I like a reasonable balance of entertainment and information. If no information then just let her perform.

Where are you from? You're not from Leeds? You don't like the pillow? You just threw the pillow away? Did you know that was a pillow given to me by my grandmother?.. Howie asked 5 questions in 8 seconds. It's no wonder she was overwhelmed

As of 2024 Courtney is independent and promises to release an album then tour. She released 5 songs in 2023. So far no live performances.

@@lorenpotaczek125 The Ghost bounds opened for the Stones in Florida. Courtney was there, but only as a spectator. There is a Tik Tok of Courtney singing Run Run Rudolf with this Johnny Baab on Guitar. He didn't play it very well in my opinion. They were said to be in Pittsburgh.
