We checked out Busch Gardens Williamsburg's annual Howl-O-Scream event for 2016 opening day, and have two videos to share with you!

In Part 2, we show you the park at night, reviewing each house for you, and showing you the difference between daytime and nighttime fun at the park!

I love teleworking, it allows me to watch some of these great videos while I work. I think 2016 Howl-O-Scream was one of the better years, much better than 2021. Thanks for posting.

Great videos! My husband and I have been going to Howl O Scream every year for the last 4 years and I was extremely nervous to see the clowns. Watching your video helped me a lot with that and I think that maybe I'll be able to enjoy Circo Sinistro without screaming my lungs out. 😂

As a local, I feel the need to tell you to never expect BGW to be at full force for HOS in the first couple weekends. They add more scarers every weekend. So the mazes do get much more intense as HOS season progresses. Your time spent at BGW would be better spent closer to Halloween weekend. But I do find good points about that too. We go every weekend to BGW and KD. BGW gives us a different experience each weekend as they add more scarers to places they weren't in the previous weekend. KD Haunt pretty much comes out guns blazing from the first night so it gets a little old to us by the last weekend. However they do have an awesome opening ceremony.

Hey VA Park Hoppers! We're local too, so definitely are aware the event gets better (and more crowded) as time goes on. We'll definitely be trying to hit BGW again in a couple of weeks, and hope to hit KD Haunt this Friday!

Wow, I remember when I was in like 4th-3rd grade seeing Bitten and Cornered. At the time I was naive and really unaware, so nothing scared me. I found it quite interesting to see those same house once again about 7-6 years later! Awesome video!

in my opinion lumberhacked was the best maze this year especially at night and unearthed was like not good at all but i haven't been in the circus one because me and my friend went into the scarezone and i ended up crying because i hate clowns but i'll do it next time 😂

Loved this video. Interesting to see how different the HOS events are between parks, including the zones. So much copyrighted music in the background! LOL Of note, our Unearthed this year did not have Scarlett in it at all.

I am going to a theme park called Alton Towers for Halloween- we do it each year. They have scare zones, and this year they are Altonville Mine Tours: Uncover the Legend of the Skin Snatchers, Sub Species: The End Games, Terror of the Towers: What Lies Within, Dark Apocalypse and freak Show. The worst part is that the ticket price to the park doesn't cover any of the houses and you have to pay for them separately. However they are really cool!!! There's also a place called Tullys Farm near where I live and that is INTENSE!!! They have new mazes for this year called The Coven of 13 and PanDEMONium’s Carnival, as well as Colony, Hayride, Chop Shop, The Howl,The House of Hounds and Hotel de Basquerville. I am normally not scared easily, but Tullys is full on! Would MUCH prefer to be where you are though!!!! Again many thanks for allowing us to share your experience! Keep 'em coming!!

also at one point during this season they changed the start of lumberhack to where you exit it and it was much more convenient but then they changed it back to that long walk

What Model camera do you use for vlogging?

I notice some vloggers like The Tim Tracker use cameras with a reversible LED Screen so you can see what you are filming when you are vlogging. Do you feel more comfortable vlogging and being able to see the framing of your shot or have you done it so much you just know your shot is framed up? I guess what I am asking is is it better to be able to see your shot while vlogging or is it all a preference thing?

I've never had the reversible LED screen until this new camera, actually. I think it's more of a preference thing honestly. Now that I have it, it can be a little distracting.

Are the roller-coaster rides open as well? When does Oktober Fest end?

+latishabrown801 Yes, most of the rides are open! Oktoberfest is actually an area of the park, so it's always there.

IoMGeek Thank you. I have fond memories of Bush Gardens from my childhood, I remember it being this magical place that had different areas that looked like a different part of Europe. Is it still like that? I'm trying to see if I can get next week off just to go back. I'm 40 now & the last time I was there I was 13.

IoMGeek I'm so glad to know that. I remember my father getting drunk off huge mugs of beer & eating sausages from 1 of the shows we had attended in the Germany area & continously waiting in line & getting on the Loch Ness & White Water Rapids . Loch Ness was my favorite ride every year because it was over a lake & there's one particular part of the ride that seemed as if the entire coaster was about to go under water because these huge doors would open in the lake or something & the coaster would blast through a tunnel. I'm hoping so badly that I get some good news when I go in on Thursday. I would like to get on the road Friday morning so I can be there Friday night, all day Saturday & Sunday then get back on the road Monday morning.

latishabrown801 lochness doesn't go underwater. It sounds like you may have it confused with Anaconda at King's Dominion. Same manufacturer tho. And designer. They feel almost identical when you sit down into them.
