Howlin Wolf Rub
. 1 cup light brown sugar
. 1/2 cup seasoned salt
. 1/4 cup sweet paprika
. 1/4 cup chili powder
. 1/4 cup granulated onion powder
. 1/4 cup granulated garlic powder
. 2 tablespoons smoked paprika
. 2 tablespoons black pepper
. 1 tablespoon dry mustard ( I use colemans)
. 1 tablespoon celery salt
. 1 tablespoon chipotle powder
1.) Mix all in a bowl.
For the Mop/basting sauce
. 1 /2 stick of unsalted butter melted
. 2 cups Coca-cola
. 1 tablespoon worcestershire sauce
. 1 tablespoon of Howlin wolf rub
. 1 teaspoon hot sauce
.1) Combine in a saucepan , heat until warm and keep warm before at all times when basting.
Smoke Stack lighting barbecue sauce (served by the spoonful!)
. 2 cups Ketchup
. 1/4 cup Hot sauce (I used a blend of Franks red , Cholula Chipotle sauce & a special hot sauce from Tijuana that's similar to Tobasco's Jalapeno sauce)
. 1/4 cup yellow mustard
. 1/4 cup Bourbon
. 1/4 cup molasses
. 2 tablespoonns dark brown sugar
. 1 tablespoon worcestershire sauce
. 1 teaspoon granulated garlic
. 1 teaspoon granulated onion
. 1 teaspoon black pepper
. Water for thinning
For the finishing Touches
. 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
. 1 shot of boubon
.1) combine all in a sauce pan , simmer over low heat until the ribs are done , stirring very often and thinning with a little bit of water if needed, so the sauce don't scorch ! .
2.) Before brushing or using ..finish the sauce by whisking in the butter until fully dissolved and add the bourbon.
