2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour 2 1/2 teaspoons baking powder 1/2 teaspoon table salt 1 cup unsalted butter, at room temperature 2 cups caster sugar 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract 4 large eggs, at room temperature 1 cup whole milk Preheat the oven to 350°F. Line the bottom of each cake pan with parchment paper. Sift the flour, baking powder, and salt into a medium bowl and whisk together. Set aside. Cream Butter, Sugar & Vanilla: In the bowl of a stand mixer fitted with the paddle attachment, beat the butter, sugar, and vanilla on medium speed until light and fluffy, about 8 minutes. Add Eggs to Sugar Mixture: Add the eggs, two at a time, beating until each addition is incorporated before adding the next. Scrape down the sides of the bowl with a spatula when necessary. Add Dry & Wet Ingredients: Add the flour mixture in four parts, alternating with the milk in three parts, beating just until each addition is incorporated before adding the next; do not overmix. Bake Cake: Scrape the batter into the prepared pan or pans and spread it so that it is smooth in the pan(s). Bake until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean, about 40 minutes for the 9 x 13-inch pan or 45 minutes for the 8-inch pans, rotating the pan(s) halfway through. Cool Cake: Transfer to a wire rack and let cool completely in the pan(s). Cover tightly with plastic wrap and refrigerate overnight. Loosen the edges with a straight spatula, invert the pan(s) to remove the cake, and peel off the parchment.

so ive attempted baking cakes a few times in my life but theyve always failed. but it was my brothers 18th birthday party yesterday and we were on a reallllllly tight budget but had about 100 people attended so i decided to binge watch all of yolandas videos for the millionth time and tried my hand at making a two tier cake. i used her vanilla cake recipe as well as her chocolate cake recipe and ohhhhh my goshhhhhhh i've never been happier. all 100 people loved the cake and said it was the most delicious and moist cake they've ever had... which is saying something because i made the cakes 3 days prior to the party and i wasnt sure if the simple syrup would be enough to keep it moist but it was. so if anyone is hesitant about making this cake.. dont be! its pretty much fail safe if you follow the recipe correctly and it tastes incredible. also yolandas chocolate cake was on a whole other level. 1000/10. ** side note... i used an electric hand mixer as i dont have a stand mixer. it was a lot more work and my arm was totally dead afterwards, but the cakes still came out perfect.

I made it today and it was the bomb!!!!!! I have been sick for the past few days and cant really taste anything but the batter it self is good Lol. I couldn't line the pan with parchment paper because I didn't have any, so I greased it really good. I used the 4lb recipe and used two 10'' x 2 1/2'' Spring cake pans (I split the batter). I let them cool down a little, I wasn't really worried about it falling apart all I was doing was tasting it lol. IT WAS SO GOOD AND OMG SUPER MOIST AND FLUFFY!!!!!(even though I couldn't really taste it because of my sickness), but everyone else said that was the recipe I need to stick to for now on. So long story short next time use parchment paper and its perfect. Grade - HEAVEN 10/10

when u use the 4lbs recipe and 2 10" cake pans, was it really shallow? because im making a cake and deciding how much batter to use
@diamonteoliver3448 жыл бұрын
Yes I'll say so myself next time I use 2 10'' cake pans to use more batter more like the 6lb because I did bake up at a normal size but then once they cooled the were flat.I have 2 1/2 inch deep cake pans and the cakes came out to be about 1 inch.

I LOVE this recipe. Tastes amazing and it is moist enough to, dare-I-say, have no need for sir-squeeze-alot! It's perfect without the simple syrup imo. I made the 4lb cake recipe and I was able to fill (2) 6 inch rounds and an 8 inch round! On your recipe chart the smallest batch is 4 lb cake. I only need to fill (2) 6 inch rounds this time around. Any suggestions or a smaller batch of a recipe? THANKS A BUNCH!

So is it technically based on cups when measuring out for each pan?
@cristinacortez95766 жыл бұрын
Just half the 4lb recipe that’s what I did and it gave me enough to generously fill 2 6in pans with a little left over

Hi,, i cooked 2 lb cake but it didnt bake properly inside although i kept in oven longer time. Help me
@btsgot7ofexosjams298 жыл бұрын
+Priyanka Singh maybe the oven was too hot or you beat the cake too much.
@btsgot7ofexosjams298 жыл бұрын
+Priyanka Singh or try splitting the cake batter into 2 portions. so if you made the 4lb cake make 2 cakes each 2lbs. Hope this helps! 😊

I just tried this recipe and It was surprisingly moist and fluffy I thought it would be really dense because that’s how it looks in the video, so it was a nice surprise, I will be using the buttercream and simple syrup so it can taste just like Yolanda’s!

So I just finished baking this, and it came out so perfect ! I followed the recipe to the t, I did cut it in half just to practice, and it is so light and fluffy, it baked evenly and it is sweet but I’m adding strawberries to mine so I think it will balance out. Thank you so much for this recipe ! Xoxo

I really love baking and I did this recipe along with the buttercream and fondant and I must say, it was SOMETHING ELSE. Just perfect! Although with a hand mixer it might be a little tough because of how thick the batter is, but that’s all I had.
