You don't need to call the alarm company to change the battery. However when you install the new one, you might need to wait few hour for the triangle to go away as the battery need to charge.

It can be something in memory. The best way would be to call your central to be put on test, and then try to call an ambulance on the keypad. If the comunication work, the trouble will vanish.

hey, first off, thanks a ton for this! a couple days ago my main DSC panel started beeping twice every 10 secs or so and i can temporarily disable that by checking the error via *2 and # so what i have is a 1-4 (General System Temper error). i had no idea that the alarm box door being open can attribute to this, but i don't ever remember the door ever being closed. i just closed the door, but i still see the error symbol on the panel, what else can be causing this? thanks

I have a DSC PC 1832 64-zone wireless system with a RFK5501 keypad. I received a zone tamper trouble light for a sensor. I took that sensor out of the system, but the trouble light remains on. Pressing *2 does not indicate that there is a trouble but the light remains on. Do you know of a way to get this trouble light to go out? Thank you!

Great video. I have a DSC PK5500 with Yellow Triangle showing. When I press *2, then View the Trouble it only displays 'Communications'. No error code numbers are shown. My landline phone is working (used to connect to alarm company), but they said they cannot reach my alarm system due to static noise on line. Thoughts?

The PK5500 display the problem in word instead of numbers. I always think it was weird as you got a better idea of the trouble with a code istead of a single word. I would put my system in test and call an ambulance on the keypad to see if comunication work fine. If not, you will need to check you phone cabling.

It was probably a failed comunication. It will be fixed by it's own on the next comunication. It probabably do an auto test every days or week. You could also call an ambulance but advise the central that you will do that test.

Mine will periodically both lights go out for a few seconds then come back on such as yesterday I noticed while sitting in kitchen where the keypad is about every 3 hours it would go off for about 5 or 6 secs then back on.. Is it necessary to have the phone plugged in, cause I leave mine unplugged unless the alarm sounds then I plug it up.. My security service is out of Tennessee and my phone line is in Kentucky which is where I live?

Looks like a short somewhere that bug everyting. That might be painful to find if you don't have experience into electronic or electricity. You need to isolate the problem.

I’m back again a year later. So mine shows 1 and the battery shows 13.58v on the meter, written on the battery it says that rating is a constant voltage standby mode. So does that mean I need a new battery? The constant rating charge for cycle use shows it should be 14.4-15v

What does the green swirl mean? My power had gone out for a while and now that it’s back on there is a green swirl button lit up. I think it has something to do with AC? Will it just turn off automatically once the temperature gets back to where it should be?

I don't know what is a swirl. But as far as I know the only green light there is, is a check mark and means that all door are closed and the system is ready to arm.

There is not really a reset to the alarm system. But they would not fix the issue anyway. For exemple, a low battery remain low even if a system is reset.

Firsts model of the keypad had a screen that was easely disconnect able. You can open the keypad to see if it's still sit right in place.

since installing Rogers Ignite my trouble light stays on since there is no power going to it, my tv is on internet now so the cable is no longer needed and so is my phone, the phone is hooked up to the modem, this is Rogers way of saving money, trying to get everyone off the cable system. I have no idea what I did, after watching a couple videos and banging the pound sign a bunch but it finally went off. I do not want to have my security system monitored as I got rid of my home phone line. But the trouble light is on and once a week it beeps. I was told a technician needs to come out and de program my alarm so it stops trying to look for monitoring. My system shows #4-failure to communicate. It don't remember what section it is by heart but it is a simple option to remove in *8 menu. It takes 15 seconds to remove.

I would not say that. I have install many DSC system over a long period of time and would say that it's probably the most reliable tech I have ever use. Very very low defective rate. The motherboard is very solid and reliable. It can also resist to short for a long period of time. It's built like a tank. And most if it is built right here in Canada. I also remember that I had a wonderfull tech suport on the phone.

Hi. ''Key'' is probably a remote. The one you can use to arm and disarm from a certain distance. Your keypad won't show numbers of error but directly explain the trouble.

Well. There is defenitively a trouble with your phone line. Try to reboot your modem and check your phone line. Try to see if you have a tone on your home phone line while the triangle is on.

Sorry I did get cufuse with 1-4. 4 only is because you alarm system tried to comunicate with the alarm central and it failed. So it's actually not able to send alert to the central because of your communication device or wiring.

The DSC panel can't contact you directly. It's made to communicate to the alarm central. You would need a third party module to do that kind of comunication.
