Wow so pretty !! I truly love that bible full of notes look and yet I struggle so much to get into doing notes that are meaningful.. I would love to just copy all of yours and yet, then its not really mine.. .. I struggle so much to just get beyond just reading the bible and actually taking notes.. I just draw a blank .. Your Bible doesn't need to look pretty or aesthetic. Notes can be what God is speaking to you thru that chapter/verse/passage, or a summary. But before reading, pray that God will speak to you 🤗

I’m going to be 70 this year & I’ve always written all over my Bible with sermon notes hanging out all over. I got my first Bible from the blue chip stamp store & used it from 7-16, my beloved Thompson Chain from my mama when I graduated high school at 17-mid 60’s & a Bible my gramma gave me (free for her donations to ORU) along with some large prints because my eyes gave me fits for a period of time. Faith, I’m feeling lead to pull my Bibles together for my children…they’ll still have the originals but I am wondering.. Will it be worth it? My heart says tie a bow on the 60 years of Bible notes…

Love your Bible!!! So beautiful!!! When you said you loved Ruth, I just wanted to share how a pastor once went through Ruth that has forever changed the way I read it. Instead of looking at the book from Ruth's perspective, read it from Naomi's perspective. How she had lost her husband and sons and was broken and crushed, but God used Ruth to bless Naomi after all she had lost. ❤ It always helps me to remember how God uses the people in our lives to show us His love. I just thought I would share this for anyone who hadn't tried this before.

Following along with your Bible studies, your shorts I've tabbed some of the scriptures for myself to take me where I need to go when I'm feeling a certain way. My bible now has notes from me diving in. And next week I plan on getting some commentaries, I've just purchased your Bible boot camp and reading plan this week investing in the word of God. So the stuff you're talking about in hope you're helping people with the word you've definitely changed the way I see the Bible.

This was so fun to watch and gave me some great ideas! I’m not at all new to the bible or to journaling ABOUT the bible, but I’m new to attempting journaling IN my bible. Question- when you’re journaling about a passage that is in the bible multiple times (like the gospels were some stories are repeated 4x), or even just a theme that applies to multiple sections, do you copy the same notes into all 4 books, or just where you are reading at the time? Or write cross references? I can’t decide how I want to organize those.
@ellenanning36722 жыл бұрын
Thanks for asking this question, it's something I've been thinking about whilst comparing specific passages in the gospels. Sometimes I don't see the point on having the same thing written out multiple times, but also will I actually flip back to the cross-references in years to come...? X

Question: Other than writing smaller in places, is there anything you wish you had done DIFFERENTLY in your Bible journaling/notes? I am starting a new Bible journaling (well, fairly new... I'm on my second book of notes). Because the pages are actually much thinner than my last BIble, I'm not really taping any notes or doing a lot of writing on the pages themselves. I'm gluing a page in between each page to make it interleaved, and putting everything on there. It's making those pages crowded so I'll quickly have to come up with some adjustments. HOWEVER, I like having the Bible pages easy to read, etc. (My last BIble was very chaotic and at times hard to read)

I think the word you may have been searching for to describe what you have at the beginning of each book is “summary”- or that is the word that makes sense to me. I’m a little over half way done with writing a summary for the fr t of each book to tip in at beginning of each one (on unique vintage or antique looking paper you can buy on Amazon, 8.5x11) I’ve made these a standard size and include the basics you mentioned…who wrote it, when, why, theme(s), structure if relevant, etc…..I think the summaries are an important first step in understanding what we read. I also believe this reinforces the historical reality of the Bible’s content. It’s not just a book of stories…….I’m careful not to use the word story when referring to a Bible passage for this reason. It’s all reality- Psalm 119:18, Hebrews 11:6, I Corinthians 2:12-14. Study on! 😊

LOVE LOVE LOVE this flip thru, thank you for sharing Faith. May I ask just one question, the only thing I was concerned at with your re-binding was that I noticed that the edges of you Bible are rough raw leather, would it not have been better to seal them over so you had a strong edge? I'd be concerned how they would hold up over time. Sorry if I sound 'picky'.

I probably would’ve took a picture and inserted it. Idk how well it would serve though 😅

Hi Faith, I’m new to your channel and am inspired by your love for God’s word! I noticed the cliff note pages of the She Reads Truth Bible that you had put in. Is your Bible CSB or how do you feel about the She Reads Truth bibles as a whole? I have two of them and would love to use one of them to start doing this.

Thank you so much for these ideas! My bible is super small and always use sticky notes! I’ve actually been looking for the Bible you have because I love the idea of having blank pages to dig deeper in my note taking! If you could post a link to a bible similar to that I would very much appreciate it! Thank you for sharing your knowledge and for saying yes to the the Lord through this ministry He’s given to you! God bless you!

Ever thought to take your notes in a notepad and then enter them in your Bible later. That way you have more control in how fast and the size of your writing 24:25 may I suggest adding a small Velcro tab for closure on the envelope… or what is it that you use?

I use the smaller ESV journalling Bible and totally agree on smaller notes! I started with a 01 Micron & some old Derwent watercolor pencils (bad watercolor but perfect for highlighting), and before long I switched to 005 Microns because I needed more space 😂. I also was in a year long study of 1 Thessalonians and had to add a tomoe river page because the 2" side wasn't enough space lol. I haven't started using tipins and such because as my church Bible I don't want to bulk it up, but am about to start doing it in one of my others.

Lol I’m currently reading a One Year Bible, in Leviticus right now and I was wondering what your notes would look like 😂
