You can get the "happy flute" aios on happy behinds too. I'm pregnant with #2 and really trying to get a decent newborn stash.(I didn't use cloth with my son until he was older) but from what I've seen I really want to stick with flats/flour sack towel and prefolds. I've also sewn some newborn fitteds. I might buy like 2-3 aios MAYBE. For my husband's sake. As far as not wanting to do late night folding, I fold my son's flats while stuffing diapers. They hold their shape its really no different than a snapless fitted. I used to hate flats but I've come to LOVE them after finding the perfect fold that works for my kid. Which is the pickman fold. My son is a giant for his age and a heavy wetter. He out grew his one size around 14-15mo. Its the trimmest most absorbent fold I've found, and the only one that still wraps around him. I think that fold could be modified and be very trim for a newborn too. And a heavy wetter newborn.

I have bummis covers in white, I like the fit and they work well. Prefolds work well but they get totally saturated which I really don't like. I am thinking I will use one wrapped around my son and one with a pad fold. I love my diaper rite and bum genius aios, they fit well and keep everything in. I liked the ecoable covers with a snap in insert but the insert dosen't encompass the whole cover so he started leaking specifically through that area 🙄. I like thirsties hook and loop size 1 covers as well.

Cloth diapering is like the story we going on a bear hunt. Sometimes we can’t go over it, we have to go through it. I think with CD if you don’t use you don’t necessarily understand it. It needs to be hands.
