COLLAGE BUBBLES!!
Just when you think your papers have all be adhered properly, they dry and you see a big bubble...has this happened to you? oh, the joys of collage! Here's my fix on those extreme bubbles--it doesn't work in every scenario (this is better on thicker papers and sturdy substrates) but it does work! Hope this trick helps!

You have really inspired me. I followed your suggestion that we make lots of small collages around 6" square. I did that and I learned some things about colors, patterns, and had a lot of fun. I also had a delivery that came in a gigantic heavy cardboard box. I cut the cardboard up and made some 3D pieces with the collaged cardboard that I really like and I've never done anything like that before. Thank you!

Hello, I am a collage artist from Australia and I was wondering exactly what collage paper you tend to use (besides tissue paper)? I originally started with non stock baking paper from the grocery store which is thicker and more durable (maybe like US parchment paper?) but was wondering if it’s important to use acid free paper if we want it to be archival / not yellow? Thanks so much, and I really appreciate your videos as well as your art. ☺️

Hi! In addition to tissue paper, I use other semi-transparent papers like rice paper, mulberry, teabag. All have their own qualities and lend different effects to the painting. I do have some acid free paper, but don’t insist that it is all acid free. All of the paper is definitely going to change over time, it’s just part of the medium.

I use all different kinds of tissue (I just order different ones on AMazon) as well as teabag paper and rice paper. I don’t do ‘in person’ workshops at present, but I do have online classes if you ever want to take the plunge. 😊. Here’s where you can find them: marabethquinart.thinkific.com/
