What a great video … some materials I have used & some not but eager to try … I like to do an underdrawing in vine charcoal and then apply a wee bit of water … ❤

Ooh, I haven’t tried that but I bet it’s wonderful. I do use soft graphite with water however. I bet it might have at least some of the same qualities. thanks for watching, Dorothy!

What surfaces do you paint on? Sometimes it looks like paper, other times canvas, other times wood panels … is it all of these? Thanks for your videos - they have really opened my eyes to another way of doing art.

So glad! I use Golden Liquid Glazing Medium but there are many mediums you can use

How do you seal the painting when it’s done with water soluble paints?

I use Krylon Kamar Spray Varnish. Since you’re not brushing it on, it doesn’t disturb the surface. You can also use Krylon Spray Fixatif to protect the water-soluble elements and then after that, use a brush on varnish.

Do you ever use Derwent Ink blocks or sticks?

I haven’t-do you recommend them? They sound intriguing.

@@marabethquinart They are indeed. You can draw with them and wet them or use them like watercolors. They are deeply pigmented and transparent and layer beautifully. Can't wait to see how they look over and under collage papers. If you work with them let us know what you think. I'd love to see what you can do with them.
