I've been watching and learning from your Elements series thank you. I just realized I also got Premiere Elements when I bought 11 many years ago, so will be installing it and following your tutorials, they really are informative but I wish you could slow down a bit!! I know your trying to cram a lot into a short video but my head is spinning trying to keep up.

Thanks Malcolm! You should try my Premiere Elements course. KZbin videos need to be faster paced, its just one of the many things i need to do with KZbin videos so that they show up well in the search listings. My training courses are completely different, the videos are at a slower pace and much shorter with a lot more videos instead of faster paced longer videos on KZbin since I don't have to worry about the KZbin algorithm.

George, this is great. I spent last winter taking your PSE course, watching your tutorial & working on my PSE skills. This coming winter I will purchase your Premiere Elements course and increase my knowledge of creating & editing video. Please continue to post PPE tutorials. I think Mindcraft is getting too much of your time :) Thanks.

Thanks John, more Premiere Elements videos coming. But Minecraft videos are here to stay, they are the only thing keeping the KZbin channel alive, I just don't get enough views from my Photoshop Elements or other graphics videos to keep the channel going. So Minecraft pays for the channel which allows me to keep doing other videos.
@johnburgess45613 жыл бұрын
@@HTGGeorge George, just joking regarding Minecraft. I get it. Thanks.
@HTGGeorge3 жыл бұрын
@@johnburgess4561 Thanks John, here's the situation, my Photoshop Elements videos average about 1,500 views, the other graphics stuff frequently get 500-800 views. The Minecraft videos are averaging 11,000 views. In my top 30 videos this month only 4 of those are not Minecraft. So what I really have is a Minecraft channel that also shows other stuff. But don't worry, my real love is always Photoshop and Photoshop Elements and I will be keeping the Minecraft stuff to only about 1/2 of the videos. Two years ago I was thinking of closing down the channel because it was just taking too much of my time and not getting the results I needed to keep it going. So I did lots of testing and tried lots of other topics to improve the views but the only thing that worked was to add in Minecraft videos. If I can ever get to 100,000 subscribers I may spin the Photoshop Elements stuff off onto a separate channel.

@@johnburgess4561 That's the plan. Right now I am creating a new training course for Audacity which I like to use with Premiere Elements. Once that course is finished I will be doing some Audacity videos on KZbin as well. Probably in a week or two.

thanks george! But can't I just drag my text anywhere on the screen I want? does it have to be centered or aligned? And can't i just stretch it bigger or smaller, like every basic movie app in existence (iMovie, Roxio, etc etc etc)?
@HTGGeorge2 жыл бұрын
Sure, you can do that. Just click outside the text to show the bounding box, which is by default the same size as the video window. Then you can drag the text anywhere you want, plus you can pull the control handles on the bounding box to resize the text and if you put your cursor just outside one of the corners it will change to the rotate cursor and you can rotate the text as well.

Can one MOVE the text to different screen positions? Say your subject is in the lower left corner or upper right; can you position the title to be near your subjects or anywhere you want? This shows the title basically in the center of the screen only. TIA. Great video.
@HTGGeorge2 жыл бұрын
Sure, click onto a different layer, like your video layer, then click the text layer, you can then grab the text with your mouse and move it anywhere you want.

Do you know how to set a certain font, size, and color to be default so I don't have to change the settings each time I add text?
@HTGGeorge Жыл бұрын
Hi, you can't set a default font. It will use the last setting you used.

Is there a way to have different words fade in at different times, one after the other?
@HTGGeorge3 жыл бұрын
PRE doesn't have that as a prebuilt animation so just do each word as a separate title, then fade each one up when you want.

What do you, yourself, think of how you manage the movement of the cursor. I think it´s like a hunted bug.

thx! but how do you change the default text/font?
@HTGGeorge2 жыл бұрын
Once you place the text you can change the font by using the Adjustments panel, it should automatically open on the right side when the text is placed. If not it is the top button on the right side button set.
@TravelwithRichardandJudy2 жыл бұрын
@@HTGGeorge ok thx but how do you change it permanently to a different font, size color etc so that when u start the program the font you want comes up instead of Adobe Caslon pro?
@HTGGeorge2 жыл бұрын
@@TravelwithRichardandJudy When you place new text PRE uses the last font you used. You can't set a permanent font option. But if you always use one font that you like, that will be the font that is used when placing new text.

@@HTGGeorge ok thx a lot. That’s not what’s happening. I always use Berlin sans FB Demi but every time I insert text it reverts back to adobe Caslon pro even during the same editing session. Super annoying.
@HTGGeorge2 жыл бұрын
@@TravelwithRichardandJudy Very odd. It should be using the last chosen font. You can try resetting the program back to its defaults, sometimes that clears up odd behavior. Start the program and while it is loading hold down the ctrl+sft+alt keys, it will open a dialog box asking if you want to reset back to defaults.

Can I add text BEHIND Object with Premiere Element?
@HTGGeorge3 жыл бұрын
Yes, if your object has a transparent background, or a green screen background you can put it on a video layer above the text.
@TravelwithRichardandJudy2 жыл бұрын
thx! ill give that a try.

I hope it helps. The real problem of course is that the Elements programs are severely limited as Adobe sees them as an entry point leading to their more expensive Creative Suite programs.

Check the size of your video. Videos take a LOT of memory and can easily crash a computer. I have to upgrade my computer every other year or so just to be able to keep up with the advances in video, which means more powerful computer needed.

Hi. I use the default text a lot at the beginning of a clip as a description of what you're seeing in the clip. When I have the text drop out before the video clip ends, the video clip does this subtle aspect adjustment like it was had a vertical stretch while the text was over it and when the text drops out it compresses slightly. I've tried cross dissolving out of the text and then the text does this little bounce upward at the beginning of the dissolve, then the video clip compresses down again. It's very subtle, but really annoying. Anybody know what's going on here and what is a fix?
@HTGGeorge3 жыл бұрын
Hi Dan, I have tried to recreate that problem but with no lock. I am not seeing any slight aspect change when having text fade out over a clip.
