Recently, I've been complaining to VideoProc that some newbies, like myself, struggle to assimilate how video editing works. Whether broadcasters go too fast in selling us the product, poorly go through the mechanics of VP, or corporate marketing / branding being a convaluted mess, they need to find someone with an ability to teach. This vid is the best example I have found where someone "gets it" by showing me how to fish instead of telling me about it. He knows how to teach, to tell me why, what, where or how this works. Now, I have hope that I can get some experience and build a better understanding of video editing. Good job HTG George!

I have been very intimidated and a bit scared of buying and using a video editor that will be too much to learn. Up till now I mainly use the GoPro Quik app and it does the trick for me. Easy and fast but I am feeling the time has come to up my game a bit and start dabbing in a bit more with my edits. This program seems to be very advanced but of course the best part is that it is free. I have downloaded it and will start to play around with it and on my next outing I will shoot a lot of video and use this software to edit the video. Wish me luck and thank you for the great tutorial that is not 2 hours long.

You're welcome Richard, and don't worry about video editing. As with anything else there is a bit of a learning curve, but not really much of one. Video editors are really pretty basic programs.

@HTGGeorge

You can have multiple overlay layers, adjust the position of the contents of each layer by using the Transform controls to the right. Green screens are overlays. Here is my video on using green screens with Vlogger kzbin.info/www/bejne/ooGan4OmoLSgp6s

Hello, Thanks for your hardware informations. Another question : when i insert a sequence on the main track (between two others), elements on overlayor effects and title tracks don't move and all files on the right are offset. Is there a keyboard shortcut or a trick to keep everything synchronized ? Thanks again.
@HTGGeorge
@HTGGeorge 2 жыл бұрын
That is a problem that even expensive video editing programs have. Tracks tend to run independently of each other. A trick I use is if I want to insert a segment into an existing timeline I will place the play head at the insertion point, I will then split each track at that point. Then when I insert the new material it is easy to update the other tracks to match since they are all split at the same point. That puts everything back into sync quickly and easily. There are lots of limitations to free programs but this is the only free editor that I feel can actually be used to do more advanced editing.

Hello, Thank you for this rather complete presentation of this editing software. I like to edit with Videoproc Vlogger and i use it on a Surface Go M3. Fluent on 4K from a Canon m50 for cut sequences but with lags while editing with overlay tracks or transitions. Normal with an Intel Core m3 an 8 Go of RAM. A question : what is the best kind of machine for fluent time-line playback (no lag) with 4 or 5 tracks of 4K videos with effects, titles, PinP sequences ? A Windows compact PC with an AMD Ryzen 7 ou 9, or a Mac mini M1 ? How is you own PC powered ? And can you edit smooth with 4 or 5 video tracks with 4K rushes ? Thanks a lot for the good job and best regards.

You're welcome. Compact PCs or Laptops are not great for video editing. I only use full sized machines either designed for video editing or for gaming. Basically you need as much ram as you can get. You need a very good gaming level video card (can't get those right now). And you need a large SSD drive, preferably 2 drives. Put your project files on the second drive. The most difficult and resource intensive thing you can do on a computer is video editing. Right now I am using an HP business computer with a gaming video card for video editing and a Lenovo for everything else like doing these comments, but Dell is also good and 2nd level brands like Alienware and Corsair are also great. So don't think small, don't think portable, instead look at professional level business or gaming machines.

How's the performance on a low-powered machine? Their specs say that on a Windows computer only 1 GB RAM is required, 2 GB recommended and 4 GB for HD. I have an older Windows 10 laptop with 4 GB and a Celeron chip.

Sounds like you are working with a very large file. VideoProc is great, but it is still a free program and has trouble with larger files and more complex tasks. If you are serious about video editing, like you are doing videos for KZbin, you really need a paid program.

Actually I have the complete Adobe Creative Suite, ACDSee, Affinity Photo, Photoshop Elements, Gimp, Microsoft Office Suite, Paint.net, Blender, Camtasia Studio, Audacity, and that is just the stuff I use relatively frequently. Of course I am in Minecraft every day, along with using Photoshop Elements and Camtasia every day, but that is just because of the KZbin videos. Actually most of my time is spent on working and not on KZbin, would like it better if KZbin was all my time, just can't afford that yet.

It also depends on what settings you are using in your project, just to the left of the Export button is the project settings button. Click on that and make sure it is also at the size you want.
