The peninsula sweeps northeastward on Lake Erie, surrounding Presque Isle Bay along the park's southern coast. It has 13 miles (21 km) of roads, 21 miles (34 km) of recreational trails, 13 beaches for swimming, and a marina.
Presque Isle is a day-use park that provides year-round recreational opportunities. Overnight accommodations are available nearby.
The neck of the peninsula is attached to the mainland four miles west of downtown Erie. The park creates Presque Isle Bay, a wide and deep harbor for the city of Erie. The bay attracts many pleasure boats and worldwide freighters -- making Erie an important Great Lakes shipping port.
A National Natural Landmark, Presque Isle is a favorite spot for migrating birds. Because of the many unique habitats, Presque Isle contains a greater number of the state's endangered, threatened, and rare species than any other area of comparable size in Pennsylvania.
Whether you come to enjoy the sandy beaches, study ecological diversity, or learn about the historical significance of the peninsula, there is something for everyone at Presque Isle State Park.

yes I have to agree our park is one of the best and its free to get into park iam blessed I was born here in mckean,pa about 20 mins from park when my parents were alive it was one there favorit parks next time ur in Erie tryed the water taxi or tour of lake Erie

My husband and I love this State Park and the Erie area in general. We visited frequently staying in hotels and we made it our first destination when we purchased our Beyond in May. Stayed at Lampe Campground with the back of our van opened to the water 10 feet away. Highly recommended.

@@HowToHaveFunOutdoors Revision; you both are blessed !!! PS. My wife and I used to travel from Pittsburgh on day trips up there and loved it. Lunch at the outdoor Sheridan bay front cafe, the beach and drove east up Route 5 wine country to a restaurant and marina to watch sunsets from up on the bluff. I've been to Hawaii, Cali, the Caribbean, etc....but to this day, our best beach day ever was on the peninsula.....85 degrees, sunny, cool clear water with 5 foot smooth rolling waves with pure white foam when they broke as we body surfed. Best beach day ever. We have lived in FLA the past 8 years and often mention that day when we look out at the ocean. Best beach day ever. That area can be magical ! Great video !!!
