Hi, I’m planing to build a POV 360 rig around the head, I think this could be a good camera for that, it’s relatively flat and tiny, the rig building is no mayor problem as I have a 3D printer and I already have my head scanned and measured, I also use a video stitching software, the question is, how can I control 10 or 12 cameras simultaneously? I've had several GoPros since the Hero 3 but over the last few years switched over to all my action cams to Insta360 ones.... One R with 1" mod, the Go2, and the One X3.... I loved the Hero Session back in the day, and the Go2 was pretty close in concept to it. For those wondering.... I have had much better luck with Insta360 app vs the various GoPro apps. I normally edit on a PC but when I need to transfer to my Google Pixel phone, I never have a problem with wireless transfer to the Insta360 app. I will probably sell my Go2 to a friend and pick up the Go3. One accessory that I hope the make is the USB power mount. It's a small mount for the Go2 that allowed you to power the camera with a usb C cable. I used it on the handlebars of my bike for long ride videos and hyperlapses. The power mount was light and very low profile... I hope they make a similar one for the Go3, so I can tuck the Action Pod safely in my pocket or frame bag while keeping my Go3 powered up with a small usb battery bank.

I make POV city running videos and have been using a GoPro setup which works but is bulky and quite conspicuous. Wondering how the magnetic pendant mount holds up for running? It would be perfect for my use case if the magnetic connection is dependable

The magnetic pendant is pretty strong and I think it would be suitable for running, especially if your clothing is not too thick or loose.

the camera and the magnetic pendant would work for your running videos... IF.... your clothing isn't loose. However, if you run with a hydration pack or belt, using the easy clip may be a better mounting option.

How is this camera for close up video work? I make craft videos and tutorials and would love to make more but it can be difficult to record videos with a larger camera or my phone over my work space.

Hi, it's great for close up detail work as long as your camera doesn't need to be more than about 8-10 inches from the subject. Closer than that and the subject will be out of focus. I really wish they would design a macro filter for this camera. I've suggested the idea to them, but haven't seen one come to the market yet.

I sorta dodged a bullet! I asked my techie neighbor to help me activate this thing on my laptop. The poor guy worked for an hour and a half, trying every trick he knew, and finally succeeded. There's no way in hell I could have done it by myself! This camera and it's app are much too complicated for an old guy like me. If I'd known beforehand, I wouldn't have ordered it. Hi, Thanks for the message and your interest! Unfortunately, the GO3 book won't be available for some time still. Sorry to hear that you bought the wrong book. You could use some of the X3 principles towards the GO3, but it would be much more beneficial to you to have the GO3 book. Since the X3 records in 360 spherical video, a lot of the content is geared towards that type of footage and specific mounting techniques for a 360 camera. Thank you! The transfer speeds have not seemed too slow for me so far, although I find it's quickest to edit what I want while it's still on the card and save my edits on the spot. Then I don't have to take up my phone's storage with a bunch of files that I don't want.

Is there an overheating issue for long recording sessions, either for the camera alone or when mounted inside the action pod?

From my testing, I haven't run into any overheating problems. I've filmed continuously on the camera alone until it ran out of battery and didn't have any issues. I am going to put it in the hottest place I can find to see if I can get it to overheat. If I experience any different results, I will let you know.

I recorded several long clips (19 mins and 30 mins) when it was 97 degrees here in Tennessee. Zero issue with heat and the recordings look great. My issue is trying to get them off the device so I can edit. 😂

It depends on which amount of storage you choose to buy. With 64GB of internal storage, you can record about 2.75 hours at 2.7k.
