Another option with shooting in interval mode is exporting the video with your phone using shotlabs starlapse mode - you can change to a regular time lapse within that mode and still export in 4k

Thanks for making this video. Really helpful. I had a query however . When I take time lapse videos in car or bike , after the recording is over I see that the video keeps rotating around? How to avoid that if I just want to keep the look ahead functionality only
@KingCobbones9 ай бұрын
I've experienced the same thing. Have you found a solution?
@ajaj83989 ай бұрын
So what I realised is , there is this option of time lapse and time shift. On a moving object it’s better to use time shift option and in a stationary object use time lapse

Great video Jordan - I am looking to use the Insta360 for a 24-hour unsuppoted bike record attempt. The requirement is to video time lapse in 1 sec range. Obvioulsy this would require me to carry a Battery bank with me. What size battery bank would be required to keep the 360 going for 24-hours? Also how large would a 24-hr time lapse video be (with 1 sec time). What size card would I need? Thanks in advance

I love my Insta360 X3. The majority of my shots will probably be when I'm scuba diving. However, I also want to do some cool time-lapse videos. I want to learn how to edit doing a fast time lapse on the beach, then slow down to normal speed, then speed up again. Can I edit this on the app or the Insta360 studio, or do I need another editing software?
@JordanHetrick Жыл бұрын
Hi, You can create this effect for shorter duration time lapses using the Time Shift tool in either the Insta360 App or in Insta360 Studio. Just record regular video and speed up segments in the app. I hope that helps!

Thanks for the video. Never thought of a clamp before but that looks like a great thing. I got a new x3 after my gopro max blew over and shattered a lens... I'm realizing that with the x3, timelapse must be stationary, unlike the gopro max that will do stabilized 360 timelapses. So I guess if you want a 360 timelapse walking, for example, you'd need to take regular video and then speed it up later while editing. Is that right? Cheers!
@bryanvaldez1 Жыл бұрын
Use hyperlapse option.
@isthislifethisis1611 ай бұрын
It’s not hyper-lapse, there are 2 time shifting modes one is time-lapse and time-shift mode. you want to select time shift mode to get the stabilized sped up video you’re looking for

Does the Insta360 X3 work in the direct sun only in the HDR mode? I tried to make a time-lapse video using your instructions, the camera was in the direct sun, but everything was washed out. I've experienced the same thig just trying to make a regular video. I bought your book but it says nothing about that and I haven's seen anything about it in all the tutorial videos I've watched. Thanks for your help.
@ColonelBlair7 ай бұрын
It'll work but you may need to play with the manual settings, and best to keep the sun hitting both lenses equally so you don't get a bad stitchline

May be unrelated but that was happening to me and I went in circles with it, I don't know what I did but I tried again and suddenly realised I was in 9:16 aspect so I entered in the second text box and it filled the first. Took my X3 with me to watch the sunrise at the Haleakala Crater on Maui.. I followed all of your steps for a Sunrise Timelapse, and the video became so white & washed out by the time the sun had come out. I was filming for about an hour and a half, and the video was only 5 seconds long lol. Totally Unusable footage, guess I should have tested those settings first. I wish I had just used the automatic settings:( Especially bummed out because I’m on vacation and not sure when/ if I’ll be able to try this shot again.
@JordanHetrick Жыл бұрын
Oh man! That totally sucks to hear! I'm so sorry. I'm not sure what went wrong there, but if you used the Auto Shutter with 100 ISO, the camera should read the lighting and adjust as the sun rises. Also, a 2s interval should create about 90 seconds of video in 1.5 hours. So strange, and once again, I really apologize. I know how hard it is to get up there, how cold it is, and how much of a bummer it is to not get the shot.

I'm having difficulty with this camera's atrocious battery life. There's just no way my camera will be powered long enough for anything neat to happen. Brand new camera, a week old, with extra batteries in a bundle of three, and man, they all stink. If it isn't thermal shut down, then its just blowing thru the battery in like 20 miles of riding. I'm thoroughly disappointed with mine. Your shots are f**king sweeeeet, I tell you that.
