Just have 1 so far, a carnosa compacta. Not very common in my area evidently. I've only ever seen 1 other locally , that was labeled anyway. There could have been more, but I'm real new to collecting houseplants

Maybe it's just me (& I'm NO expert) but it looks like you may have your callistophylla and finlaysonii mixed up. I can't say for sure but I will say this: my finlaysonii has thinner leaves (I wouldn't quite call them "papery", but decidedly close to that texture) and my callistophylla has stiffer, thicker feeling leaves. Of course, my opinion is only based on watching you hold them side-by-side. Love your videos and I am really hoping to get a larger leaf hoya soon! The Sarawak is at the top of my list right now!

I came on here to see if anyone else said this. I was thinking it while watching, but since I only just purchased & received the callistophylla this week, I wasn't sure if I was right in thinking they were mixed up. I wanted both but could barely tell the difference online so I went with the one I liked best and saved myself a little money. For now. :)

There are 2 channels which specialize in rare hoyas: basie plants and doug chamberlain. They are both very knowledgeable. I bet if you looked back at their videos you would find some answers. Basie plants had a video about how many hoyas are misidentified and sold as something else. I know if you reached out to them they would help you.

Try planting your Hoyas in coco husk. It’s an excellent substrate for Hoyas. Holds moisture amazingly well. I have tons of my Hoyas in it.

Cool Hoyas and yes I agree sometimes we get the plants With wrong names because the sellers or suppliers put wrong names or doesn't even put any tags on the plants. Thanks for sharing your plant haul and can't wait to see what plants your selling. Good luck 👍

Love the new additions! I started using a foliar mist on my hoya, they were growing in the winter! I mist them every other day. Generic orchid mists, or diluted fertilizer does the same. Happy growing!

No hoyas in my collection. I've only ever tried the Krimson Princess (4 times) and every time I get one I can count the days until it is dead. As with Calathea, I will admire them from afar.

Love your intros. I’ve just started my Hoya collection, I only have so far, Hoya Australis which I only paid $12.98 at Home Depot and I forget the of my other Hoya but I purchased that one at Homestead Gardens It was over twenty dollars. I can’t remember the exact price.

So right about needing to collect them! I bought H. Australis and liked how it looked so much I decided it wouldn't do, and now I have about 7. With each new Hoya my happiness increases, so I have an excuse haha My favourite by far is H. Odorata, I think it's such an underrated plant! Extremely hard to pin down why it's so aesthetically pleasing but it's very "forest-y looking" I suppose. Also have H. pubicalyx, carnosa, hindu rope, lamingtoniae, serpens, australis. I'll have to check out some of these beautiful foliage varieties. They look so beautiful on camera, way larger than I expected them to be based on photographs! I notice hoya in particular tend to be way more beautiful in real life, it's hard to capture in photos but irl I think it's way to easy to be sold on an expensive hoya 😅 Thank you for the video!

I'm curious to see a comparison between your finlaysonii and callistophylla vs the Hoya callistophylla Kalimantan. Also, wonder if you have seen the Hoya Sarawak? You might like that too!

Hi Christian. Thanks again for the video and the intros🙂🙂🙂🙂 I am new to Hoyas but am in love with them. Not only they live long with proper care but most of the them specially the thick leaved ones are not too fussy. So far I have 1 krimson Princess (combine 3 pots in one), 1 Australis (came with issue but is recovering now) and 1 publicalyx. I am looking forward to add some more. My favourite Hoyas would be the ones with thick big leaves Is this a golden pothos in the background?

Another great vid as always a funny intro, I just asked my other half how big is my mother hoya he said 3 by 3 feet she's massaive & has her own gazebo (was my relax place) but gave it up for as she got so massive. Am a true lover of hoyas but they grow so quick, Id get consumed if I started collecting them 8 is enough for me & I have no idea of the names however they are just beautiful.

I have a couple hoya's . It started when I got a small pot of hoya compacta I got from Ace Hardware for $6 . When it started to sprout leaves I got more interested in the hoya family. Since then I added the hoya compacta varigata, hoya publicalyx , hoya wayetti , I think a Hoya kentiana ? It's in the hoya family but the help in the nursery wasn't sure and a Hoya memoria grasilis. Hard to pick a favorite.
