My Hoya love my north facing window strangely! I was super shocked by it. But all of them are blooming and growing like crazy. But yes, I do have them right in the window!

My house only has windows facing South or North. My hoyas seem happy about 3’ away from the south windows, and get a bit of sun stressing. Right now in the summer the sun is high enough that no sunbeams actually touch them, but in the winter it will come in more so I’ll adjust as needed, but hopefully with the weaker winter sun they will be fine with some direct sun!

Here's a couple things I found living north of 60⁰. Due to the angle of the sun, I almost need to put them directly in my south window. I also need to supplement light because the daytime goes down to 5 hours. Even in summer, the light isn't very strong. Lol, even during summer I couldn't get my sunrise to sunstress. 19 Hoyas now, love every one of them. Love your videos, love your energy. Have an awesome day. Love from northern Canada ❤️

I have all southwest-facing windows. All of of my plants are near the windows. The sun is higher in the summer so I don't get direct sun but in the winter I get direct sun. My plants that are supposed to go dormant in the winter actually do their growth spirt in the winter. My ZZ plants have several stalks on each plant, I have 5 of them.
@jaclynns.jungle2 жыл бұрын
Same thing happened at my mom's! My plants thrived in winter because the sun was less blocked by the trees! 😊

Hi Jaclynn, I must admit I never understood the hoya obsession..... today I got a Linearis and a Rosita in a mystery cuttings box and now I've seen and felt them in person I get it 🤣 the Rosita especially is STUNNING and I'm worried I might have another genus that I'm going to be obsessed with!

What are some Hoya varieties that you would recommend putting in East facing light?
@jaclynns.jungle Жыл бұрын
Anything green would be fine! Variegated plants need more light.

I love my sun stress on my sunrise it’s gorgeous but I sun stressed my caudata Sumatra and I’m not too crazy about it. The pubicalax is beautiful with the pink on it also.

Hi Jaclynn, in your opinion which Hoyas are prettiest when they’re sunstressed? And thx for the info about the splashy Hoya. The splash on my publicalyx is pink - I didn’t know WTH was going on with it.

If you can see the light source, that's direct light. If you see light but not the actual source, that's indirect.

Very informative. 😁 I have a pubicalyx (that is what you told me it is, so I believe it!) that had one splashy leaf. 2nd one came in all green. I was thinking it was like a variegated plant, needing bright light -- now that I know, I will give it less light. Is the existing leaf able to get splashy? Or is it doomed to live out it's existence solid green?🪴
@jaclynns.jungle2 жыл бұрын
I'm glad you love your Hoya!! The new leaf unfortunately won't get spalshier, but new growth absolutely can with a bit less light! If it keeps happening just cut it and start a new growth point on the plant ☺
