My Hoya patella white is budding up two months after I received it. I grow it in the Netherlands in an eastern window. The room gets pretty warm in the summer. I am very surprised it does so well so quickly

She’s so pretty. I was able to get one after seeing yours. I can’t wait for her to bloom for me.

I have been able to get this hoya to bloom many, many times here in Sunny Florida. I have propagated over 12 cuttings by simply sticking a good substantial cutting and sticking it in the original plant. Leaving it alone for 2 or 3 months and when I pull it out it has beautiful roots and will soon bloom. I continue to take cuttings and stick them into a pot of any of my hoyas and it grows really fast.

That’s wonderful with the growth rate and flowering frequency!! Patella isn’t that friendly to me🙈 but I think you have the perfect environment for it to flourish 😀

Also I notice that when I first saw my hoya patella bloom it has a beautiful pink bloom in 2020. It has continued to bloom but the color is becoming lighter as a consequence of being in high humid Florida. This plant of mine has fallen to the ground several times due to the wind and I have had to change from clay pots to porcelain to plastic. But it continues to put out leaves and 4 months ago it put out more than 13 blooms at once. So very happy with this one. It likes good watering.

Thank you for the tips! I agree, Patella likes more moist substrate I my experience too 😀

Love all of your videos and they have helped tremendously with my growing hoya collection. I have used your method of using the plastic cups and condiment cups as a reservoir from your earlier video. Can you please provide information on what you are using now? It looks like a plastic cup inserted in a larger cup?

I’m glad you found my videos helpful!🤗 I’m still using the same potting method as shown in this video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/eKmTeXappt2AjKs 🌱 after the roots have outgrown the 6cm pot, I normally transfer them to 8cm clear pots and use a relevant clear cup as the reservoir. I keep my Hoyas in 8cm pots for years without upsizing normally. I prefer to keep the pots smaller in size - save space and avoid root rot from overly moist Pon😁

Wait so if I could get one in a stable environment it's not high stress?

I think Patella will grow well and steadily once it has received environment it prefers. Just need to trial and error to find that sweet spot🙈

A beautiful flower, but sounds high maintenance. I will gladly watch her from a distance 😅 One more question concerning the Rebecca, if I may 👀 Do her blooms smell similar to the Krohniana or different? 👀 I so hope the scent is different 🥴

I’d say Rebecca smells pretty similar to Krohniana🌸

Imo opinion the scent is very different. The rebecca smells very fresh like fresia's and the krohniana is more overwhelming and sweeter. I prefer the rebecca because it perfumes my entire bedroom without knocking me out and being too cloying.

I was waiting for this haha right now Im so tempted to throw mine away. I killed my pink patella for the first attempt and my white patella right now is just meh 😑

Hang in there! patella is a more difficult one indeed. But once it rooted well and you’ve provided an environment it likes, it’ll grow steadily 😊

@@tfyfonnie I live here in the tropics literally at the mountainside where it’s very humid. My water source is also from the river. Patella really just hates me while you have the magic touch 😆
