I liked that she explained the diff colored straps as far as you use the shorter on top and longer on bottom to get into the seated position. Most of these videos say which they're using but not why. Thanks!

PERFECTLY DONE. WH hat an EXCELLENT teacher. I LOVE how she explained that we need to communicate and explain to the person WE ARE TRANSFERRING how and what we are doing. VERY humanitarian. I'll be using one tomorrow for the first time and I'm confident I can do it now. Thank you and God bless.

Unfortunately, she did not widen the leg base until after moving the patient close to the wheelchair... MUST spread the leg base BEFORE moving patient so that there is a wider base with such a high center of gravity. I have seen hoyers tip with the patient in them if the legs are not spread. Every other part of this demonstration is wonderful, specific, and very practical

Thank you it seems no one wanted to help me find the right products for my mother! And no training for the people who want to take care of their elders! Thank you Again

I think she forgot to put on the lock of the wheels before putting the sling and lift the patient. There's a tendency that the hoyer lift will move either way. Also before lifting the patient, the base of the hoyer lift must be adjusted like "V" position.

She locked the wheels of the chair

@@adelepolinsky3472 Orlando was referring to locking the wheels of the lift, and spreading the legs of the lift into the "V" position, for absolute safety & stability.

Questions: Should the base be opened while lifting the patient from the bed to prevent tipping. Also, when do you lock the hoyer lift. Should it be locked when lifting from the bed? What about when lowering patient into WC? Locked when lifting patient from WC?

This was helpful. Thanks. My lift doesn’t have electronics, though. It’s entirely manual hydraulics.

What if the patient is paralyzed
@gigia20305 жыл бұрын
Then you would need a 2nd person to assist. Although I was trained that a hoyer is always a 2 person transfer especially if the patient is heavy.
