Straighten the sheets to be free of wrinkles and fold to minimize the occurrence of bed sores
@armyrabb110 ай бұрын
You should make a video about lifting a patient off the floor. That is the reason I got one of these, for when my wife falls. The overall procedure is the same except the legs have to straddle the patient.

Belt under arms ( 2 people) one hand on belt one under arm...position yourself to side of patient place stool behind back and buttox. short Stool to reg stool. Reg stool to chair transfer. Cuts the weight in half and moving if the patient is heavy

I notice the sheets being very wrinkle an not straight which can cause skin break down after a while.Instead of 2 people watch Client on the toilet one could make sure the linens were straight.Other than that it was helpful

How do you get the net out from under the person once they are on the toilet/bath chair??! Every video skips that part! I'm so confused!?!
@luv2learnify25 күн бұрын
You don’t move it. That’s why the sling has the commode cut out (the hole in the sling) so they can do what they need without having to move it. If the patient had taken a shower what helps me is putting a beach towel on the bed so to minimize wetness when transferring back to bed. Hope that helps.

The straps are based on the individual. but I always use blue on top when putting someone in the chair because it helps sit them up so, you don't have to pull later. Let the hoyer work for you. Even when putting them in get behind and pull them to the head then lower the lift. No boost later. Let the hoyer work for you.

I thought you had to use All the same Color loops when attaching the loops? My wife is 230 lbs, about 5'5 inches. I have the same commode sling you are using here. She kept telling me her neck and head were hurting when I lifted her. Am I doing something wrong?
@joankeane25713 жыл бұрын
Yes you probably are she has to be up right to use a commode
@Sam-gv1bk Жыл бұрын
So typically with these lift sheets there are different colors that indicate how upright a person will be. By using all the same color all throughout the person will be more flat and This is good for getting back to bed, but if the person is going on the commode, it would be better to be in an upright position which is done by adjusting those colored loops. On top it should be the colors that are closest to the person, and on the bottom the colors farthest from the person :)
@rose-zy4meАй бұрын
Hello..the hospice nurse told me you don't use the same colors for head and hip/leg area..cause the head needs to be sitting upright..as the bottom half of the person sitting position..just got the hoyer tonight..I haven't used it yet for my husband, but hooking the net to me it looks as if..the first loop..ours red..for head, then 2nd loop..yellow should work, next loop is green. Nurse says just position over the bed first..til you figure which colors work best for the position..will see tomorrow..

Problem is assistant living and personal care facilities are not permitted such apparatuses. All lifting is done manually. There is no safe way to lift a resident weighting over 200 lbs if you have a small frame.
@kayp94479 ай бұрын
Omg why 😮😮
@mojojeinxs99609 ай бұрын
@@kayp9447 because in assistant living residents are supposed to be weight bearing able to stand and pivot on their own. Light assistance not full skilled care.
