when the little girl said “when i grow up, im going to be a hero. just like you” she wasn’t smiling because it was similar to miyabi saying it at the beginning. being a true hero comes great loss.

It was both she seeing her child self in that kid and understanding even more how desperate her mom was to keep her away of that path. I really like to see how Mihoyo worked Miyabi as a character, and probably as one of the protagonist of this game. Along with Belle and Wise

15:12 I think you misunderstood, it wasn't Miyabi that killed her mother, the mother killed herself while holding Miyabi's hands, you can tell because Miyabi is being pulled in her mother's direction and not pushing. Her mother wanted to die before becoming an ethereal, and maybe to pass Tailless's ownership you have to kill the previous owner or at least be holding the sword when they die.

It wasnt exactly confirmed how they passed tailess from generstion to generation. But they do speak of a sacrifice to be made and that her mom was the last one, so it may be 100% the case. I still like the idea that Tailess power apparently is what ends up turning the owner of the blade into an Etereal and thus he or she has to pass the blade to the next generstion. I mean this because in the lore it is explained that Anura (Tailess name in japanese aparently) is made of super high quality Etereal material and it gives power to the hoshimi family, but in Miyabi's case, she doesnt use said power and its all her own power. (Probably the only times she wielded Anura's power is here in her mom's death) It also came out of control during this chapter a couple of times, but it showcased how Miyabi herself is by far the strongest member of the Hoshimi family.

Let's remember a little on the topic of becoming a Hero in the universe of games of this company. More precisely, Kevin from Honkai 3. When he returned from the moon and found Dr. Mei and what she left for him. But in the case of Miyabi, the scriptwriters found the most poisonous blade in the world to pierce the heart of every viewer. Make you feel real human emotions. It may be painful to look at, but it’s a masterpiece of work.I would like to express my gratitude to the guys from the development team and the entire creative studio, for doing such work they make everyone come to their senses and feel everything human that our hearts are capable of.

So the sword recognises miyabi as it new owner when miyabi tear hit the blade. Similarly to some Japanese folk lore where the sword has to taste it owner blood to gain it ownership.

The worst thing is that her mom was the sweetest angel ever and really loved her daughter. Thanks for this trauma Mihoyo :)

The point of showing all those weapons is to show that Miyabi kept trying to grab the sword, but her mom kept handing her different weapons instead. Her mom didn't want her to go down the path where she would use the demon sword or whatever it's called.

I think Miyabi's mom was trying to protect her too since, if she lived any longer and became an Ethereal... it'd be a huge problem. Just look at Pompey. And the sword seemed to have possessed Miyabi right after killing her mom. Don't know if killing the previous owner was necessary for transferring ownership but the owner now hears the voices of their dead family and or ancestors. You'll hear echoes right after the mom dies and Miyabi goes ballistic. It's fitting Section 6 is blue. Cause all their members seems to just be depressing. I guess party hour is over after Sons of Calydon for now. Oh and is the singer for the music the same VA for Emilia from ReZero and Megumin from Konosuba?

Gotta say, chinese dub is still the best. Great reaction though. I am pretty impressed that your emotions translate so well to your Vtuber model, in surprisingly subtle ways.

I haven't heard the Chinese version of this, but in regards to the English dub, I don't think I will ever unhear that scream.

@@ericbright1742 I actually thought that especially this part is better in chinese. The scream is more... raw. But this part is very well done in the japanese version too. Also, for some reason the sound of the sword going through her body has more... crunch... in the chinese version. At least that's what I thought.
