Mr.Tashed will still be weeks behind on content that people have already created, I don't even play star rail but one things for certain if your reacting or theorycrafting weeks after content has already been shown, people who've already watched early footage probably just wont even worry about hearing feedback from people two weeks later. When it comes to being a content creator bringing up old news just hampers your progress and Hoyoverse is explicitly making this show of favoritism even worse for people who weren't already good in their eyes.

Established viewers will continue to watch his content. However, this annihilates new traffic and the initial burst of traffic you get. When you review ANYTHING(Games/Tech/whatever) the key is the initial wave of traffic during the launch window when NDAs are up and everyone is getting their midnight reviews out. When you end up posting post launch you get leftovers. The traffic is abysmal in comparison. Hoyo is essentially gatekeeping for chosen creators.

I dont think you have to quit. If people like your channel, they will likely STILL watch your guides. I personally watch the same character guide from MULTIPLE creators, esp if I like them. But I agree, it is really not healthy for only some people to get access AND post a WEEK in advance. It was already bad with genshin creators having access for a week and posting guides 1m after release, but a week before release is crazy. It even removes some fun from the PLAYER testing the character for themselves

There were already better theorycrafters than you like Zajeff and TGS who calculate all the numbers, energy requirements, elemental gauges, which weapons are better than others down to the percentages and find the perfect teams. I'm a small hoyo creator that started on KZbin with guides for Genshin and later on HSR. I was already having a hard time competing with channels that cover leaks without any fears and now I'm genuinely afraid it might be worse. I'm happy as a player but I'm sad as a hoyocreator, because no way my channel who posts guides 1 or 2 days after the character launches will be able to compete with channels that cover leaks or private gameplays way before the release.

I suggest you keep doing it. reasons: - you have the advantage of recency bias when the character release. - Hoyo scan the cc server reviews making it not a very objective character review. (they prohibit the cc to said something bad to the new char/LC) for F2P players an unbiased review is more valuable than censored early review. - it's not just about the content but how you presenting it.

But this also makes it tough to grow now. Name of the game in gacha is mainly the new units and story, if you take away the ability for everyone to have review parity or first thoughts on a character, there isn’t many reason for players to go to a channel that will have a late step in. People like braxophone now can even have a more nuanced or detailed look at a character because of the head start. Yeah I like Mtashed and his reviews for units, but I am already a viewer, the issue will be how he will overcome it his giant disadvantage. Truth be told, I’m fine if he mainly now focuses on other stuff, it doesn’t just have to be one thing where now Mtashed has to put more hard work and foot work in, it’s also going to be tougher on him if he decides to take this route.

It's his early reputation that had stayed with him but the biggest offense is his association with Tectone. Now people can't separate them. Mtashed, back when I first started genshin impact, I had no clue what to do, how to build my characters or even how to wish tbh. You were and still are one of my favorite content creators. I’m sure right now is hard but just because there are other content creators putting out unreleased character info, it doesn’t mean you can’t work on it all the same. I think even if you do move on to other games, you’ll do great. And I am truly sorry that this has happened to you. I wish you all the best.

I can’t speak for everyone else, but when I’m interested in a character, I watch the takes and opinions of multiple creators to get a multifaceted view. You are one of those creators. I’m still going to watch your guides and opinions on characters, even if they are 1 or 2 weeks after some other creators. Your opinion is more valuable than just the build guide frankly. I think your channel will be fine.

A bit late to the party here, but I would like to say that I come to watch your videos for *your* takes. I don’t watch the guides to find out what a character does; I watch them to see how they stack up in your personal opinion. If I have to watch it when it comes out rather than watching it early, that’s literally no difference to me. If you choose to pivot I totally understand, but you’ll still have a loyal audience watching your guides if you chose to continue with them.
