@@CommentPositionInformer so, I've heard that Genshin was in development waay before any phone could potentially handle it so they were optimizing the game in advance left, right and centre, in every aspect possible. Those animations which many players wouldn't even see would take space so that's why I think they gave up on the idea. The thing that baffles me the most is that Genshin is a much bigger game now and it still has those simply-in-order-to-work flaws such as NPCs practically not having clothes (it is drawn on their bodies which looks extremely cheap)

@captain3413 My guess is that the entire thing is so immensely big, that making such fundamental alterations to it is no longer viable. That's is very common with code that is a few years old, let alone a game. I can attest to that, as a programmer. Genshin has several small scrapped features like this. For example, in the beta party menu, characters used to emit small particles of their element. But I have NO idea why HSR doesn't have them either, considering it's much newer.

imo in this case having an animation istead of just a splash art would've been better. for example, ww has a similar thing with pulling animations, and boy they look pretty dope, as well as make the moment when you get that character you wanted more special. and given how good hoyo animators are, i think they really could've went to town with these.

I found some reasons as to why they were scrapped, Apparently they would be laggy for no apparent reasons despite being run on high end devices, other than that the animations wouldn't even register to begin with and the devs decided on scrapping them instead Overall I think Genshin's Gacha animation is good enough, not too complicated, not too flashy, not too lame, not too terribly long

probably a mix of both, first off I like the night sky in the beta and the 5 star animations, I wish they kept that (maybe make it a bit shorter) and then had them position and transition into the splash art. for 4 stars though defitely current, the splash art is much better than just them standing there. The dark background would have made the wishing stand out so much better, always wondered why they had it in a bright daytime setting. i like the current star better though, the trail makes it feel more stable and satisfying.
