He DID NOT just follow Abstract with Would That I. HE DID NOT. A song about his love being roadkill, of dragging it to the side and letting and watching it die, is followed by the song about the cleansing fire of a new love, that makes anew. Put together like this, the songs depict a fire that "consumes" the "still living roots" of the carcass of his love, incinerates it like we do to corpses for closure in death, to start again. I CANNOT BELIEVE HE DID THAT.

Thank you so much. The concert in Irving Texas 10/10 was my first in many years. I tried to record some on my phone, but found it hard with so many people in front of me. All in all the atmosphere was the same as yours. I had a blast!

I’d get a better ticket next time..the music was beautiful..but he has a really cool backdrop & stage production..worth it. If you’re thinking of going to a show..do it.

Would you suggest going even if not super familiar with his music? I like his songs but am not a huge fan.
@SueTheOfficeDJ Жыл бұрын
Absolutely. His venues are larger, can’t get away from that. My (personal) preference is a more intimate setting. Overall, you’ll get a “positively spirited” audience, captive & eager in participation. The songs on this album have a lot of definitive isolated beats & many octave climes, that when paired together w/audience participation a big place..you feel the vibration of the song being played and the energy of everyone being united. Just go.

Maybe its just me but I could do without the use of the F word repetitively before To be Alone, for a Wordsmith like Hozier , alternatives must be available. Unnecessary swearing detracts needlessly from the performance and strikes a jarring note in an otherwise lovely and classy performance. Its not typical of Hozier.

As someone who was there that night the crowd seemed a tad bit disrespectful. They talked over the opening act, kept cheering midway through songs, and yelled random things the whole time…. I completely understand why he was cussing like that 🤷🏽♀️ with all that cheering you would expect them to be able to sing along to a chant but they didn’t…
