He's so genuine and down-to-earth! I absolutely love it! Just wish the interviewer would actually let Hozier speak....
@36isnotold10 жыл бұрын
I don't think that interviewer could've insinuated any further that Hozier got lucky. 'Are you surprised that someone like you, in a small town far far away in some unknown place got lucky..I mean took off?' 'How many songs have you made besides 'Take Me To Church? 10?'" 'Did you feel odd at SNL like you don't belong when you were there?' Seriously? Who is this guy? He was asked to be at SNL--- well, then, he belongs..dumb question. Mulch tips? Here's one. Go get a wood chipper and put your questions in it, because they suck. He took off because he writes brilliant lyrics set to beautiful music. The end. Hozier, you're awesome..felt bad you had to share air space with this guy.

I could see about the town thing. I live in a town with NO MUSIC SCENE. I kid you not. I have to drive an hour or so to play live. So it can be a really big setback. But yes, the interviewer was quite interruptive.
@36isnotold10 жыл бұрын
Yeah, he definitely was. And I get it with the music scene, but it wasn't a local bar that did it for him, it was the internet. Like he said, you can upload a video, and as fast as your neighbor can see it, so can anyone on the other side of the world. I guess it comes down to what you're uploading and how good it is. Hozier's fantastic so I don't get why that guy was so surprised. Legends from all walks of life have come from small towns. Presidents to movie stars...again, dumb question.

True.. But with the internet comes ALOT Of competition.. But I'm very happy Hozier made it (Even though I don't believe the way he does on some subjects)

This is the first time I listen to this interview, I agree with you, how bad this interviewer is! Humble Andy tried to remain cheerful and answers his questions charmingly!! Hozier is one of the best singer songwriter of our day! May be they are so familiar with the mainstream music, won’t cite any names, that they/ he forgot what real music without auto tune feels and looks like!!😢

The fact that this interviewer keeps cutting him off is SO ANNOYING. Let him speak! You invited him to do that.

5:17 the interviewer was so freakin rude there. Andrew (hozier) was about to speak and he just blatantly interrupted, Andrew looks a bit sad by it too. Rude interviewer.

Ohhhh, that pissed me off. Andy had something to say there, and was just shut down by this asshole. And yeah, he looked upset by it. If *anyone* does *not* deserve that, it's Andrew Hozier-Byrne. jfc, you do something like that to one of the sweetest, kindest, most generous men on earth, and karma needs to go ballistic on your ass.

He was JUST about to say something fascinating about the creative video-making process and he was interrupted. No offense meant to the dj, but it's okay to give people ample room to express their responses- you're still going to keep the energy up and be an even more effective interviewer if you allow this. If there is a pause of 2 seconds while someone gathers their thoughts, that's not a crime. :)

the way the interviewer talks about Ireland... i live in dublin and Bray is like 30 minutes away max, and yea it's got no music industry, that doesn't mean there's no music there! We're just as up to date with music and pop culture as America and it's so funny to hear people talk about it this way.
@36isnotold10 жыл бұрын

Interviewer: [SNL] is not on in Ireland, is it? Hozier: It's not aired, but I mean, thankfully the internet exists, which is nice. I mean, barely... The wifi sitch in Ireland could generously be described as "dire".
