Saved his for my sister to see. Told her "LOOK JUST LOOK at the young people and they know this song. Its about gay love and they know this song and support it ! She was amazed at how many were there too. I'm 70 and to see this ! How society has changed is beyond words coming from the South of the U.S. Remember besides having to make it through that period of absolute, total hatred. Then to have the President declare war on us, as Eisenhower did which his Executive Order, See the Lavender War. Now to see the young ones is such a wonderful blessing. Now fewer will be killed. My dear heart didn't make it through that time to be here today to see this amazing change with me.
@pakana49764 жыл бұрын
Thank You. I was a young guy at that time I refer to as (When Hell was in Session) Practically everyone strongly believed you should be killed & were. Our title then was "pervert". We were "Puck" by society standards. If you were sitting in a café and appeared gay. You would not have to worry about paying your bill cause you would not be able to and if it was night they would probably not half kill you by a beating in the café. They would let you step out "into the darkness and you may wind up like one guy I knew with two bullets in the back of your head or another friend hack to pieces with a machettee but now my life and heart they didn't wait for night he was beat so bad he died a couple days latter. While another very special person was driven insane as we looked into each others eyes and I had to watch and keep my mouth shut. He was hauled off to a asylum. Me I escaped barely twice, One time I didn't think I would get that next breath and the other I gave it everything I had to out run them cause I was afraid I would get what my boyfriend got. Then when I was safe I broke down. This is why you can imagine how amazed I am at seeing two societys; one that will kill you at the drop of a hat and another which loves you ! Can there be any greater change ! If I was at that stage I would get down on my knees and thank those kids for their acceptance and love.

My lover's got humour She's the giggle at a funeral Knows everybody's disapproval I should've worshipped her sooner If the Heavens ever did speak She is the last true mouthpiece Every Sunday's getting more bleak A fresh poison each week 'We were born sick, ' you heard them say it My church offers no absolutes She tells me 'worship in the bedroom' The only heaven I'll be sent to Is when I'm alone with you I was born sick, but I love it Command me to be well Amen, Amen, Amen Take me to church I'll worship like a dog at the shrine of your lies I'll tell you my sins and you can sharpen your knife Offer me that deathless death Good God, let me give you my life Take me to church I'll worship like a dog at the shrine of your lies I'll tell you my sins and you can sharpen your knife Offer me that deathless death Good God, let me give you my life If I'm a pagan of the good times My lover's the sunlight To keep the Goddess on my side She demands a sacrifice To drain the whole sea Get something shiny Something meaty for the main course That's a fine looking high horse What you got in the stable? We've a lot of starving faithful That looks tasty That looks plenty This is hungry work Take me to church I'll worship like a dog at the shrine of your lies I'll tell you my sins and you can sharpen your knife Offer me that deathless death Good God, let me give you my life Take me to church I'll worship like a dog at the shrine of your lies I'll tell you my sins and you can sharpen your knife Offer me that deathless death Good God, let me give you my life No masters or kings when the ritual begins There is no sweeter innocence than our gentle sin In the madness and soil of that sad earthly scene Only then I am human Only then I am clean Amen, Amen, Amen Take me to church I'll worship like a dog at the shrine of your lies I'll tell you my sins and you can sharpen your knife Offer me that deathless death Good God, let me give you my life Take me to church I'll worship like a dog at the shrine of your lies I'll tell you my sins and you can sharpen your knife Offer me that deathless death Good God, let me give you my life
