Super informative video regarding the anatomy of the carb. Thanks!!

Anyone had difficulty with the choke not releasing? I have to manually un choke 99.9% of the time. Any advise out there?

I never got that automatic choke to work. I always had to do it manually

Be sure to take up any extra slack in the throttle cable housing with the barrel adjustment. It needs to be pulled fairly firm to disengage the choke.

Great carburetor for what they are a lot of people complain because they come to Rich of a jet.I think the stock NT carburetor comes with a 70 so you could throw that in there to get by but I got a 61 in mine if that tells you anything might be different in Australia though.

Fun fact, I already swapped the NT jet. Coming up soon 👍

Put a 0.60 in mine, runs mint! Tried a 0.65 and it sounds a lil rough, Put the stock 50cc stock carb jet in and im yet to test, I believe that jet is between .65 & .60 somewhere...

@@NicksBikes ......had my 66cc out for it maiden ride tonight. It won't stay running in the idle position. I suspect this screw needs tweaking. Is there a general rule of thumb as to how many turns in, to have this at?
@NicksBikes3 жыл бұрын
@@jwvgoethe77 it's just trial and error. These are not high precision machines. My advice is wind that sucker right in for a high idle and work your way back half a turn at a time. I've found they want to idle higher when they're cold anyway, so ride your bike for 5 minutes before trying to find that idle sweet spot.

You will spend more money machining a replacement slide than ordering a replacement carburettor. Prove me wrong 🤷🏼♀️

I just got one ah those carbs an it wouldn't run as good as the stock carb then I tried drilling the jet an still not as good as stock carb but I'm still learning tricks to get it to out perform the stock carb
@NicksBikes3 жыл бұрын
It honestly won't out perform an NT carb. Try getting a mikuni or dellorto carb
@shawnstone4949 Жыл бұрын
I just got mine in the mail yesterday! Getting ready to go through it this AM. Did you notice a little better performance all the way around from installing this carb? I’ve got a nasty jack expansion chamber,and I seemed to be hitting a wall with the other carb. So for $18, why not try it out?
@NicksBikes Жыл бұрын
I found that it eliminated 4 stroking across the range, but wouldn't let the engine hit high RPMs so robbed me of top speed. These carbs come jetted rich, so consider swapping the jet with the stock NT carb jet. Otherwise, I had best performance with a #65 jet. I didn't mind this carb, but I think the NT Speed carb is the better choice because it's easier to tune and offers more reliable performance across the rev range

@@NicksBikes up in jet size means, more fuel? Why does it calm down once I'm riding?
@NicksBikes3 жыл бұрын
Up in jet means more fuel, yes. My bikes tend to rev high until the engine warms up then settles down. You might also find that the throttle slide might be sticking. Check that the throttle cable isn't bent or twisted in there and that the throttle spring has seated properly. Sorry for the late reply, KZbin had this flagged as spam for some annoying reason!

Once it was jetted properly, it ran fine on my bike. There was less 4 stroking but for some reason I could hit higher speeds with my NT speed. Admittedly I don't have much experience with different carburettors
