HP Chromebook x360 a14 Screen Replacement

Thank you! I just successfully replaced my screen thanks to your video. Couple of tips: - Place just small pieces of double sided tape in the corners of the backside of screen, rather than all along. The replacement tape will not peel off like the original. - Prefer 3mm wide tape. I bought 5mm and had to trim it off after I affixing it to the bezel. - If the magnet on the left side of the screen falls off, be careful with the direction when you place it back. If you place it in the wrong direction, your Chromebook will sleep when in tablet mode and remain powered when closed. If that happens, flip it upside down.

Terrific video, I had no idea the screens were held with double sided foam tape (like 3m tape on car aftermarket door visors) and how to pull out with tweezers. My screen was not broken, the ribbon cable was loose behind the screen. Thank you so much for making this video!

When replacing the screen is there anything in the back or the bottom as far the the battery that has to be unplugged first or can you go straight into replacing the screen

Thank you I successfully took out my screen out off my HP Chromebook X3 60 14a and also I had to use my fingers to pry open the bezel without any tools because I don’t have any of those tools and we don’t want to wait too long for all the tools so I just did it out of my hand

My Chromebook is a Model 14C. Is the process the same as the 14A? By the way, my screen just cracked more or less spontaneously. I was using the computer, only 5 months old, and when I finished for the day I just turned it off and let it sit on the table. The next time I went to use it, the screen had a little chip right at the border that I had never noticed before, and while in use a crack just started at the chip and extended across the screen. HP refused to honor the warranty as they blamed "accidental damage due to customer abuse"! I've own a lot of HP equipment in the past, back all the way to an HP-41 scientific calculator. No more though. HP has lost a customer.
