HP Elite Case Won't Open - How to open case that is stuck on HP Elite 8300 and 8200

@@LowcastleTech So when I watched your second video, because the first one did not work out, I finally noticed differences in the door (there was not even an opening to push down the mechanism, that's why the first one did not work out). I "obviously" have a different case though very similar. The mechanism is even more crude than yours and so I really had to use a leverage to pry open the door but still that little *#@!! stuck there as if it would be hanging from a cliff. So I showed mercy and it is now my door angle to the case. But with a little tank tape and good luck it will be okay until I buy a new one. lol

@@zariff07 That is frustrating. When you pull on the handle is it pushing the back metal panel in? I had a viewer that wasn't able to stop it by holding that loop, but they just held onto the vent instead, anything to keep that back plate from pushing in and it worked that way. If you are pulling the lever and it's doing nothing at all I have another video that might help you can see here - kzbin.info/www/bejne/b4LHioKNepmCjaM - Anyway if that doesn't work I hope you can figure something out, that would suck to not be able to get in there.

Without seeing it, it's tough to say if it is the same issue. I would say watch and see if the metal backplate is still pushing inward when you try to pull the handle. If so you will need to make sure you're getting enough leverage to keep it from moving. First time I did it, I had to put my feet on the corners of the case and apply a fair amount of force pulling back on the metal ring while pulling the handle. Also you want to carefully examine to make sure there are no screws or anything holding it in if it is a different case than the one I have in the video.

Depends on the case. Some cases do have a screw or bolt in the back that you need to take off first, but with this model and a lot of the older HPs you don't need one. You should be able to just pull the handle and pop the side panel off. In this situation that wasn't working because the lever mechanism was pulling the whole back of the case in. Basically, by preventing the metal back-plate of the case from pulling in, it allows the lever to do what it needs to do, to unlock the side panel.

I'm pulling back as hard as possible with as much leverage as possible and its still not coming off i have the exact same case aswell

When you initially tried to open the case was it pushing that metal back plate in when you tried pulling the lever? Or when you pull the lever was it just not doing anything? You might want to push down a little on all the edges of the plate first and make sure it is flush and snapped in. Sometimes it gets stuck kind of halfway locked in. But it could be something is wrong with the latch as well, it's tough to say.

what's happening is that when i pull on the metal part it does nothing i held on to both corners of the case for leverage but it still does nothing i think its a problem with my lever...god i hate this pc

If the problem is that the metal backplate still pushes in when you pull the lever, there was another viewer who said holding on to the loop with pliers didn't work for them, but holding on to the vent did. Anyway hope you get it figured out, always frustrating when a case gets stuck.

Sorry to hear that. If you are having the same issue with the silver colored backplate pushing inward when you pull the lever, you really just need to do whatever you can to keep it from pushing in. Another viewer had a similar problem, and they tried holding on to the vent with the pliers instead of the loop, and that worked for them. If you are still having trouble here is a video with another technique you can try kzbin.info/www/bejne/b4LHioKNepmCjaM though again, it is hard to say what is specifically causing the issue.
