Ok, when flip the connector upside down, it covers the charging LED. But when you plug the cable, you know it's charging right ? Some will say "yeah but what if the cable isn't plug into the wall ? You won't notice it". Windows has a battery indicator in the system tray, and at least either you always plug you pc in the same spot, so it's always plugged on the wall, or you are moving and when you take your cable out, you know you have to plug it into wall. Anyway, good review here. The product seems like a very good catch

I use a surface book for school. The extra screen real estate is really good for notes. The power is good enough to run solidworks, matlab, and fallout 4 on low. I like the lap-lit idea but it needs a bit more power to run games on high settings. I wish there was a razer book so I can get a 960 m or better.

You're sacrificing one USB port + SD card slot for one charging LED when you can look bottom right for your battery level. Great

Photoshop scaling is weird because they pulled an Apple and refused to support non-integer scaling factors. You only have the choice of 1x or 2x layout... though, tbh the 2x also makes the buttons bigger for finger use, even though the type is technically way too large at that point.

My take on it (in comparison with my SP4): + passive core m in combination with 8/256 GB and LTE option + Thunderbolt 3 und USB 3.1 o similar battery life o lower resolution is both disadvantage and advantage o Fingerprint Reader instead of Windows Hello - bigger and heavier despite smaller screen (huge bezel) - kickstand at max 150° - no high-spec version (max 512GB SSD, max 8GB RAM, no core-i7) - flexing keyboard Overall I say 'meh'... it fills the same market as the SP4 and it offers pretty much the same. For me it disqualifies itself with the kickstand, since I often use the SP4 at 160-170° when using it in bed.

This is about the same price (or more, depending on where you look) for a Surface Pro 4 with an i5 and buying the keyboard... Seriously, companies keep trying to make alternatives but they seem pretty dull so far.

That charger design could use some work. Though I suppose if you have the battery level indicator on the task bar, when the tablet is on, then you know that it's charging anyway.
@jonathangibson23368 жыл бұрын
The power cable is at a 90 degree angle so you can use the tablet in bed as it rest on your chest while not damaging a straight plug.

I've been looking for a retailer selling either this or the HP Spectre X2 in Canada for a little while now, so finding out NCIX sells it was perfect! ...until I saw the price. The cheapest version (M3) isn't being sold and the M5 is way too expensive at $1500. That's more than the i5 surface pro 4 + keyboard! I was looking for this as a cheaper alternative for the surface, not more expensive!
