Is the G6 screen compatible with G5 screen? (I've found a 400 nit good screen, but it is to G6 in the description, and I have G5)

Where did you get the display with the brackets attached? I can source them without but it's finicky to pull them off the bad display

Usually I find parts like that from Ali Express. Amazon sometimes has the same store reseller . But never been shaded or got the wrong product from AliExpress. Just make sure you order the right thing :)

Anyone know if you can swap out the Sureview display with a non-Sureview display in this laptop? The Sureview display is the worst display I’ve ever encountered, and it makes using my laptop a very poor experience.

No, you can't.

At 6:30 in the video, you can see he pops the silver bar below the bezel out. Set the bezel around the screen, then pop the bar over the bezel small clips.

What is he doing @ 6:30? Is that a form of cable tucking? Thank you.

Kind of late response.. But maybe others are wondering. Today i replaced a second one. He is unclipping the clips of that grey thing in the middle, when u put the black bezel back then u need to push down that "gray thing" and push it towards the screen so it clicks back in. It is really a shitty job. U can see at the end of the video on the right side 2 clips are still visible. Not good.

my bezel isnt that loose fitting - have you removed it before?
@gpckoleco4 жыл бұрын
I'm going to assume yes. I just took one apart and it was a little tougher than that one looked. Also there was some adhesive. Take your time with a good spludger tool , it'll be alright. :)

You were supposed to disconnect the battery before removing the screen
@gpckoleco4 жыл бұрын
I agree.
@natebolton93853 жыл бұрын
HP's own videos state this. However they also say to remove the whole display assembly before doing this.
@kenben82073 жыл бұрын
you had luck because you didn't remove battery.
@haraldschurr10352 жыл бұрын
not removing the battery is not critical as long as you don't wobble around with the video connector too much while connecting it to the screen.

@haraldschurr10352 жыл бұрын
@@kenben8207 I am doing it all the time and I didn't kill a single motherboard with about at least 50 screen swaps.
