HP Envy 17 Leapmotion Laptop Review

Hello! I have very recently purchased this laptop, minus the leap-motion, with the otherwise full max stats. I'm wondering if now, after a long term of usage, how the 17 is faring for you? I bought this with performance in mind, as well as some portability. How easily transported is it? Has the battery been a very large issue? The weight? Thanks!

You said that HP Envy 17 has the best screen I've ever seen. I know that HP monitors are really stunning and I have used them. Do you personally recommend the the display of Envy 17 over the Retina display of Macbook pro 15?

I have only seen a Retina Display MacBook Pro in the Apple Store with lights glaring at it from every angle and have not seen it indoors. I would say though that the Retina Display wins in terms of resolution but in terms of colours the HP Envy 17 is more pleasing to look at. Regardless they are both fantastic displays and you will be pleased with both of them. Thanks for watching!

Very good reviews - I've watched all your HP Envy 17 videos. I'm in the market for a 17" laptop and saw this in a local store. I'm not interested in Leapmotion so would consider saving the money and getting one without this feature. Difficult to tell in the store - how loud is the fan on this machine and does it cut in a lot - I hate it when laptop fans are constantly on and off all the time! Thanks!

Sorry for the late reply. The fan on this machine is only loud when you are performing heavy duty tasks. For basic day to day tasks the fan is very quite. Thanks for watching!

Eric Carter Cool, just trying to gauge how sensitive the laptop is to heat really - I don't like fans that kick in just because a web page is loading! :( Thanks for posting!

when you said it wasn't good for video editing without a mouse would you say it was really unmanageable, I don't mind getting a mouse. I would prefer to have just used the pad but is it a good laptop for actually editing a video. does it lag? I want to get a laptop for using the internet and editing videos would you recommend this one? also does it export the edited video quick because its a fast laptop or take just as long as any other laptop would?

The trackpad really was horrible to edit with as it was more of a fight to interact with as apposed to being a enjoyable way to navigate software and the operating system. Thanks for watching! If you liked the video please give it a thumbs up as it really does help.

Holly Brown Its a great laptop all round for gaming, editing and for performing basic tasks. My only main problem with the hardware is the trackpad. Everything else is exactly as you would expect. As I said in the review it still is a great laptop. If you have any other questions feel free to ask.

What are the specs of this laptop? I'm building one as I type this and need to know the specs of it. I don't want a dual core processor with a dedicated GPU (Nvidia). I want the i7-4710HQ with a dedicated GPU, so I need to know can you install an Nvidia card with that model? the HD 4600 just doesn't seem powerful enough to me for what I need it to do.

You can I am getting an i7 4710MQ with integrated hd 4000 and a gt 800 M
