thank you 😊 my fan is making a wracked… and i’ve only replaced the HD so far… i really wasn’t looking forward to doing this… thanks again! one of my hinges is hosed. with this panel off i can actually see one of hinge screws floating… NOT surrounded by the black plastic .. is that an easy fix?

Where did you order the new fan from? There are so many sub models for this laptop - the one I need to replace is a 17t-j100.

Usually eBay/Amazon. You can find the fan model number on the fan itself. Your best bet is to look at the fan on your model and see if it matches what you're buying. Not good to assume it's the right fan.

Thank you for this video!! I was able to replace the cooling fan but unfortunately, the tiny white clip that holds the data cable for the Optical DVD Rom drive broke in the process when I was trying to lift the clip like you did and remove the cable. Now, the drive will not work. Where can I get a new clip? I tried using black electrical tape to hold the data cable in place but it doesn't work. Please help! On the bright side, the cooling fan is working!

You'll need to put the clip back or add some tape to thicken the cable.

It's just a tunnel for the hard drive cable
