The NVMe slot is there for the Intel16Gb Optane M.2 card. You can remove it and install a regular NVMe SSD. If your HP is running slow, swapping the Optane for and NVMe as your primary storage with the OS will improve performance significantly. While you are at it, replace the mechanical drive with an SSD for secondary storage.

Yup, I don't see the point of Intel Optane. Just get a full fledged NVMe SSD.

Hi, I have an issue. I recovered the BIOS but im getting an error CMOS cheksum is invlaid. I thought, to replace the CMOS but there doesnt seem to be one. Any ideas?
