Hello Steve! Great question. Yes, expired ink can void the warranty on a printhead - although ink takes quite a while to be expired.

The hp 315 also has the Omas sensor what’s the purpose of it?

@@efraincortes3687 I expected them to mention OMAS: Optical Media Advance Sensor when they moved from 115 to 315. It needs to be kept clean of dust and ink so it can track the back of the substrate to precisely move it during printing. It is especially important if you're printing panels for a mural or a box truck because a 115-printed panel won't align to the next panel properly. OMAS fixes that problem.
