does the monitor comes with built in speaker?

None. It will use your laptop’s speaker.

Does the monitor still works even after shutting down the laptop?

@@Riu._.022 The laptop serves as my main PC, so the monitor is dependent on it. But you can set the display settings so that even if you close the laptop it wont shut the monitor down.

It's only an external monitor. You might want a smart TV that can be also used as a secondary monitor ☺️
