It's been about one week since I put down my flag stone sidewalk and filled the gaps with polymeric sand. It hasn't rained at all and I was curious about how well water was going to drain off so I soaked it down with a hose. It seemed to drain off just fine. After about 5 or 10 minutes I felt the sand and it was spongy. Is it supposed to be like that? It was hard as rock before I got it wet.

Hi Tom, Yes, it is normal for the sand to become spongy after rain. It will go back to a hard state once it dries. This process will occur every time it rains, especially in springtime.

Do you have a Product that will ELIMINATE WEED GROWTH within the Joints? Here in Western Washington State, the Weeds are a BIG PROBLEM especially with Joint Sand. I want the joints to be permeable, but I also don't want weed seeds to land and grow withim them... Good Afternoon, Our Organic Stain Remover could do the trick, but it will be important to test the product on a small area first to be sure it works the way you want it. When doing odd shape flag stone with large gaps, is it possible to fill in areas after the sand has setup?

Unfortunately, we cannot add sand on top of already polymerized sand.

@@Techniseal I tried it and it worked great. Poured about a half cup in a small spot, spread it with a soft 2" paint brush and gently wet it with a spray bottle.
