Thanks for showing this, our top tray unit came out and we spent a goodly amount of time trying to make it fit. Then on your video, we saw that it went into the top area and not on the tray! Hip Hip Hooray! x 3 !

Same trouble I had, I actually returned the printer because of this problem, the tray would not close properly subsequently breaking a piece of plastic, when I tried making a copy, the paper was rumpled and printing was crooked. The tray was flush to the printer body when opened, but was closed only as far as shown in your video. Instructions show the tray flush to the printer, very poor design!

I did NOT realize I had to remove the tray completely, select a new paper size on the screen and reinsert the tray with the size I wanted (letter). My iPad was not allowing me to change the paper size I wanted the documents to be printed on. I had to do it directly from the printer “screen” when I changed the paper size. Frustrating but I managed eventually.

Great, yes the paper need to be changed from the printer as it is where the paper is loaded.

@ I knew the paper needed to be changed but I was unaware that when the tray was removed that the screen changed as well and returned the option of the paper on my iPad screen to what I wanted it to be. 👍 I needed to make the proper selection on the printer screen for it to be appropriate on the iPad as well.

On the off chance that someone from HP is reading this, please stop using the flimsiest materials available, just to save a buck on shipping costs. Surely your engineers warned you that this tray would not hold up. I'm guessing that you wanted us to just go out and purchase new printers every other year. It's sad. The HP brand once stood for a quality product.

Actually you can, but you have to download the additional software. I was trying to get mine to scan multiple pages as a pdf from the doc feeder and it was NOT working with the regular set up that came in the box.

I am on youtube looking for videos now on how to print on larger paper. I have issues every time I open the thing. I can honestly say I've almost taken a baseball bat too it dealing with this paper tray. Very poor design.

@@vickijackson5547 luckily I canceled my order for this printer. I went and got an Epson WF. I’d try Epson Expression Photo XP-15000 for larger paper
