For all the people asking, Sorin did replace the capacitor in the jump cut, and is making a montage video of him replacing all of them. The video is set to come out April 1st. Keep a close eye out for this banger of a video!

It's wonderful to see how you repair all the laptops you can, how well you explain the entire process. I can tell you that I have learned a lot from you and my area of work has nothing to do with IT but rather with industrial electricity, to which I have applied many of your teachings. Thank you very much and keep teaching.

It is nice to see you back with a smile : ) the last fews days have been a bit disappointing, just wondered how the liquid damage got to a really small area of the board, and even more strange is that between the keyboard and the board is that thin plastic membrane? good job though sorin 🍕🍕at least 1/4 pizza.

Pretty conclusive evidence that 1 single drop in the wrong place, and left unchecked / untreated, can be detrimental to any device! I was "fooled" by the heat signature from the other side, and thought it'd for sure be a much bigger component :)

Another easy Pizza, it doesn't take much contamination to take out any component but capacitors seem to be a common issue.
@Huckleberry966Күн бұрын
for those who replace the capacitor. You can count. There are 10 capacitors in parallel next to each other. Capacitors in parallel are like resistors in series. These capacitors usually have 10 uF. If there are 10 uF less, then that's still within tolerance. You don't notice that. The others take over the job. Replacing a capacitor is therefore usually unnecessary. Not always, but most of the time.

Hey Boss. Thanks fixing laptops are my hobby these days i have the same problem The last one I worked on had all the capacitors shorted on the motherboard. The CPU was warm and i could feel it with finger, and the power supply amps were fluctuating between 0.01 and 0.04. Do you think the CPU is gone?

2:00 Is it safe to put a metal thingy on the battery terminals? They look to be recessed, but it could still short the receiveing connector.

Watch the video on KZbin the other day a gentleman was showing he got fake test leads and how magnets are sticking to the wire showing a higher resistance then should be tested other various wires so I decided to get my magnet out to test to see if I was getting the same results sure enough I ordered my test seats off Valley Express and the magnets are sticking to them and other various wires like the test leads that they ship with the big variable power supplies not impressed needless to say...
