@@charbelmerhej3249 in my country its the best value for money laptop, its usually on discounts and has the best hardware compared to the price. I have a bit older hp pavilion gaming 15, only with a 8300h and 1050 ti. Performance is alright, it definitely lives up to the standards of the hardware but thermals are a HUGE problem. Like Jarod's test shows, even with a cooling pad your CPU is hot all the friggin time whilst gaming. Ive done so many things to lower CPU's performance, namely the minimizing its power through the power usage settings on battery mode. Still gets heated as shit. Also, had to change my battery after around a year of having it (most likely because of the heating problems and also you have to leave it plugged in all the time whilst gaming for max performance, which is bad for the battery). Would not recommend, although hardware is good, thermals ruin all of this laptop's potential.

Your conclusion of this laptop really gives consumers something to think about. There's a lot of models in computer manufacturer's these days that if all you focus is on price not value or future thinking you might not get the best value for your money. Consumers that are not familiar with GPU, CPU, Graphics Cards are the ones that may make the purchase as I saw this Pavillion 15 of 899.99 with i5 next to the HP Omen 1,249.99 with a Ryzen 7 next to each other at a Bestbuy with no description of the cores. You make a lot sense when it comes to the cores and a good perspective about price and the possibility that 4 cores may not be enough down the line. Great video and information! I got the model HP Pavilion para gaming - 15-dk0001la in January 2020 and I'm still happy with this laptop. These are the following stock specs: Intel i5-9300H, Windows 10 Single Language (upgraded to Windows 11 Enterprise), HDD 1TB (upgraded to Nvme M2 1TB XPG Gammix S11 Pro), 8GB RAM (upgraded to 24GB) and Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050 3GB GDDR5. Even if it's a budget gaming laptop, this machine surpassed my expectations having a good coooling system, ergonomic andnice keyboard and combined with a balanced performance. This laptop is not capable to run games such as Metro: Exodus, Metro: Redux, Dead Redemption, Battlefield V, Control (meet with minimum requirements, but don't expect high FPS) and similar titles. However, some games such as Rise of Tomb Raider, Battlefield I, Vampyr, some COD and Wolfenstein games could be run in 1080p with high or mixed high/ultra settings. Nowdays, my girlfirned this laptop for working from home, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Premiere, MS Office, ocasional gaming and is the perfect laptop for everything with a balanced price/performance. My recommendation consists to change to the thermal past each 6 months if you play videogames frequently or 9 months if you use this laptop for working from home. That's the right way to extended the life expectancy keeping a great performance.

Hey Jarrod. Thanks for the video. I wanted to ask if is it worth considering an i5 10th gen laptop today, if i want it to last for the next four/five years? Or should i push my budget to get a Ryzen instead?
@adsibu88984 жыл бұрын
I'd advise going with ryzen (5 4600h) because from my experience it runs cooler and is more efficient as compared to Intel (i5 10300h)
@JarrodsTech4 жыл бұрын
Might be worth waiting til next month to see what next gen has to offer, that said last time I compared 4/6 cores in games a few months ago, there wasn't much difference at all, if you don't do multicore heavy loads it could go ok, hard to predict.
@AdamAnalytical4 жыл бұрын
@@JarrodsTech Looking at your game tests though, the Ryzen 5 4600 H compared to the Intel i5 9300H when both are paired with a GTX 1650, generally the Ryzen performed the same or better in every game, some games and presets even had pretty big margins in favor of the Ryzen.

Hey Jarrod, I am planning on to buy HP Pavillion 15, but its a different variant. I wasnt really able to find its model on google, but it is available in store : CPU : Ryzen 7 5800H GPU : RTX 3050Ti 4 GB RAM : 16 GB (8x2) Refresh Rate : 144 Hz Not rly sure bout the NTSC and sRGB rating. But im not planning on to do any sort of graphic editing. The price after converting is about 1200 $ Do u think its worth the price?
@NotstarvinMarvin2 жыл бұрын
im going to buy the ryzen 5, 3050, 144hz which i already find a bit too much but because this laptop doesnt look gamy/cringy and it does the job i am satisfied. In your case, i would not buy a 3050ti for 1200 dollars. I dont know how it is in the USA but i can get a 3060 or amd 6600 and ryzen5 for around 950/1000 euros.. with ryzen 7 it would be around 1200 euros i believe.

Hey Jarrod, I was thinking of getting a lenovo legion5 ryzen 7 4800h, dunno if to get the 1660ti or the 2060, only seems to be £50 difference in price here in the UK with same disk and memory 16gb/1tb sd, gonna be doing some gaming and light work stuff. Or would wait for ryzen 5000/ radeon graphics? Dunno what else would be worth getting at the £1200 mark. Liking the reviews though. 👌

Jarrod please please help me out. I'm in a bit of a bind. I recently bought an Acer Nitro 5, the most recent model that comes with an i5-10300H and a GTX 1650 (non-max q). I just needed something to run World of Warcraft. I just found out the store where I bought it recently acquired this HP model with a 1660 ti max q but an i5-10300H and 8 Gb of RAM. I'm conflicted about going back and returning my Nitro 5 and paying the $100 difference to get this laptop. Is it worth it? What do you think? I heard it runs hotter than a Nitro 5.
@777-q9z3 жыл бұрын
if by hotter you mean the temp then no
@officialovercoming3 жыл бұрын
@@777-q9z yea I stuck with the Nitro 5. Saw so many reviews they all have the HP Pavilion Gaming running around 90C on most games. Yikes! I upgraded my Nitro 5's RAM to 16Gb and it runs my games like a dream. Runs WoW at over 100FPs with 7/10 settings level (quite high) and the temp is usually around 70C never goes over 75C on the CPU, GPU stays around 50C. Quite impressive for a laptop and that's without a cooling pad.
