@thebristolbruiser
@thebristolbruiser 2 жыл бұрын
Just practice and see what works for you with your equipment. Generally around 400-450 degrees on a preheated board is sufficient. I think the melting temperature for lead-free solder is around 210 degrees. So you want to be much hotter than that. But just get some dead or useless boards and practice removing and replacing components. The only real way to get a feel for this is to do it yourself.

for some reason I'm not surprised. The Thunderbolt has 20 volts at its disposal and is controlled by the Hub. so if something cheaper or faulty is connected to the laptop's thunderbolt port, there is a high probability that 20 volts will hit the Hub. R.i.p

Please do a video of replacing a TDK 404 Mems Mic (or similar) as the only 3 videos on the web show how to heat it up from the bottom. Some boards have components on the bottom stopping you from doing that! Can you be the first to create a video that shows the temps and other specs to properly replace a mems mic on a very closely populated board? Would be a nice video that does not exist!

You showed that the cpu is getting hot in between the silicone chips. What are the chances that a reball will fix the problem ? Slim to none ! It mai actualy be a short inside the board of the cpu. In any case, a reball is time consuming as it is and you need a dedicated stencil. Is it worth it? NO! You can't guarantee that the balls will stick to the pads. I recently seen a video on people killing cpu's by mishandling of gallium thermal paste. That thing is conductive and who know if it can be removed in the ultrasonic bath.
