HP Spectre x360 14 2-in-1 Review - Amazing OLED, Pretty Good Pen

The HP Spectre x360 14 certainly leaves an impression. It has a unique design with those hexagonal patterns and chamfered edges, but yet still remains looking professional and classy looking. Of course, this is also a flexible laptop. Flip the display a full 360 and use it as a tablet to take down notes with the included pen.
Yet, even so, it retains great performance and superb battery life, all considering.
But the best part is definitely the display. OLED is really good, Oh, and the webcam microphone as well, it certainly impressed us more after watching our videos back to back!

I bought the 15inch one in 2019 and have been using it. It works just perfectly. I like the screen, speakers, performance, and touch the most. On the other hand, it has some heating issues, and being a 4k screen some of the windows app doesn't support the screen, so they look blurry on 4k resolution. Also, I did not get the USB hub, but the box was very cool. Edit: after using it for almost 3years, the battery life is decent.

Just got this one for college a few days ago, after playing around with it, I would say it's gonna be perfect for university! The only thing is the temperature, it gets warm sometimes but you'll have to learn how to control the fan speed in the controls to keep it cool when downloading things or playing games and such! Other than that good luck on saving for this machine, it's great and I totally recommend for school for sure!

@@iBlackStar49 there is almost no burning in new models, I have got hp spectre 14 oled this is freaking awesome, almost 13 hours battery lif with 70% screen brightness. Don’t think about it u going to change after 6 years and burning doesn’t occur in this time period

Can anyone recommend a good monitor to use with the Spectre 14? I will be using my unit for photo editing mainly. I don’t do gaming and have no need for monitor speakers as I have a magic pair of Bowers & Wilkins headphones. It’s colour quality I’m after and colours that match with the laptops screen. All ideas appreciated, not too expensive though please!

Very interesting. I've seen several unboxing/reviews of this laptop and yours is the first that I've seen that came with that USB hub. Must be a new addition to the package. Nice add. EDIT: Looks like it's just the Asian market that gets the USB Hub. I found one other reviewer that had it and she also was in that region. Perhaps they'll expand to other markets with the next model because it's a great addition. Enjoy your laptop my friend!

Throughout our testing, it ran fine, shouldn’t need to worry. As for which is better, we can’t say since we didn’t test the 13-inch. So go for which size you prefer!

It depends on the stuff/application your school will be using and if anything specifically for your course. Do check them out. But usually, a MacBook would be better in general. But if you know you don’t need any MacOS specific apps, the HP Spectre is good as well.

We can’t say for sure. Years takes a little while. But in our experience, it has been fine.

I got this same version, I'm selling it already... The 2 reasons are 1. The pen jitter is horrible, I have to keep erasing what I write, drawing straight lines slowly is bad, and signing with the pen is a nightmare, 2. Battery life with this oled is bad, can't reduced the resolution to save some battery either as there is no lower resolution that fits this unique aspect ratio.

The Spectre will still hold up fine for sure. As for the Galaxy Book 2 Pro, we can't vouch for anything given our lack of experience with it.

Best notebook for university and solid editing with max 1900 € (2200 usd)? I found lots of options with 11th gen Intel cpus but for that price they all have Intel iris xe graphics gpu, and I think that a gtx/rtx gpu would be a lot better for me. So I'm not sure if I should go for a 10th gen Intel cpu notebook with a rtx gpu or for the new msi prestige 15 , which in that price range is the only option with both a gtx (1650 Ti) and an 11th gen Intel cpu (i7-1185g7). Thanks in advice! Edit: another option is the new Dell inspiron 15 with rtx 3050 ti and i7 11800h

Great review Terafield! Does anyone know if this oled screen has a visible touch layer? It appears as a grey diamond-shaped matrix on whites and lighter colors. It is most notable when up close, but I could still see it from about 2 feet away. I had an older x360 and had to return it because I could not take the way the touch layer made the screen look almost dirty. If anyone could say from personal experience I would really appreciate it!

Hmmm to play Genshin, you would really want a discrete GPU at least. So there really isn’t much option in the 360 line… look for a laptop that has at least an RTX3050 or a GTX1650 (if you don’t mind last gen)

i got the hp envy x360 today. it won't run genshin on the standard settings, but if you right click on genshin and apply "find compability issues" it applied windows 8 settings, and runs genshin pretty smoothly now :)?
