Splendid video, exactly what I needed. 🙂 I personally always use a grounded wrist strap and a grounded desktop pad because of the MOSFET (metal oxide semiconductor field effect transistors). Also, why not try to power it up with just the rear cover snapped back in place before putting in the screws? Also, unless the customer absolutely, positively does not need their data files you should try data recovery first before over writing with a new OS install. And the newer Mac's always max the fan speed when powering up. I believe it is to clean them a bit. And finally, running a quick check using the diagnostics option F2 on the boot menu, at least on the hard drive and RAM would be a really good idea. 🙂

I just have my knee against my metal desk. Sometimes the hinges aren't strong enough without the screws, so I just put it back together.

@@ItsBinhRepaired The hinges are not directly supported by the bottom cover; you won’t damage the system without it temporarily while moving the display. The system board and top cover are sturdy enough. I do it this way all the time. I only suggested snapping the bottom plate back on as a consideration to minimizing any damage due to static electricity, especially since it seems you are not even using a grounded desktop pad. You can even just set the laptop on its side edge. Side facts: Even a very small amount of static electricity, too small to be felt can damage transistors. And amazingly enough static charges can even sit on top of paper, wool, hair, plastic wrap and a lot more. Thanks for your video, I will atempt open and clean my Spectre, it's been like 5 years since I bought it, so I guess It may help it run cooler, the only hard thing to find is the rubber feet. Sometimes I think speaker makes a crackling noise when driven loud (Like above 70%) is it normal on this laptop?

If it's crackling, the membrane is likely torn on the outer edges.

There is no bios battery or w.e. it's called. The guy commenting probably has the same booting problem this computer and mines had. That's what I was told was wrong with mines at first but it ended up being something else. I believe the bios got corrupted some how.

Hey are you familiar with gigabyte laptops? I have an aorus 17x yb and the rgb keyboard won’t illuminate anymore. I tried everything. Even reset windows to factory and redownload the aorus control center. I’m beginning to think the keyboard lights are dead. I can’t find anything online to show where maybe there is connection is on the motherboard.

@@ItsBinhRepaired thank you. My computer updated the bios and now wifi is disabled and has a yellow exclamation point and wont reset at all even after performing system recovery and hardware diagnostic is saying it has no problem and I was trying to see if I need to replace the network card

Yes, both the hard drive (M.2 nvme hard drives are AWESOME) and RAM are upgradeable. But that’s about it besides software like the operating system, of course. 😀

@@MeltdownxPR likely the touchpad is the issue. They like to put thermal sensors in there sometimes. When it's not working right, it throttles the computer. Similar situation with the battery.

Hi, As I haven't opened the back panel since purchase, I'm unsure of the whether i can upgrade my RAM or not. It seems the rubber feet (only the rubber) on my laptop have extended 3cm and 2cm respectively beyond their original position, and it often comes out but the rubber feet parts i.e, the plastic sticks are still attached to the back panel covering the screws sections Because the screws are not visible. Could you please advise on how to address this issue without causing damage? HP SPECTRE X360 15t-df100 CTO Appreciate your assistance.

I use my fingernails to pry open computers and cut through Amazon's paper packaging tape. They're very useful. They aren't used for fashion, but I guess you thought they looked good enough for that. Lol

I had a hp spectre x360 15 doing the same thing would only go into boot mode and wouldn't successfully boot back after doing so. Brought it to a fix PC store and they got it running without replacing anything they said they just had to do something with the bios apparently. But what sucks is several months later I started noticing the front of the laptop case would start to split at first it was very little so I didn't care but now it's soooooo bad and it's been like 2 years since they did the work bit I know it was definitely from them doing something incorrectly because it always had a slight gap from the time I got it back but like I said it wasn't a big deal at first and I didn't say anything cause I already went 2 weeks to 3 weeks without my computer. This was right when all the kids were going online for school so they were slammed. Idk if I should bring it back or not because of how long it's been now I feel I'd be a pain in their ass to do that but really feel they should fix it due to how hard and expensive it likely will be for me to fix it myself.

I've been running it without a battery for a bit and it works fine like that. What's weird is when the battery first starts to fail that bios boot loop seems to be a normal thing to happen first. Likely due to the CMOS battery power coming from the main battery I'm thinking. What's weird is it doesn't have any issues running without a battery at all though? Anyways I just recently ordered a new battery, I also ordered new ram and a new ssd which it will be my first time replacing those. I ordered a crucial 16gb x2 set up that runs at 3200mhz I'm hoping it will work as they said it was compatible with my model and I really wanted something that had faster transfer speeds and bigger capacity. I wanted to go to 64gb instead of 32gb but it was hard finding any info on compatible ram and I couldn't find anything on if that would work or if it was even necessary to go that big. I only wanted to go that big because it wasn't going to cist that much more money so if it would work I wanted to just do it at the same time. The ssd is another story again I went with crucial as the company and bought a cloning set up which I need to research how to use. I am wondering if I can clone the ssd while the original is still inside laptop and the new ones in the cloner? I got a crucial 2tb with a decently fast transfer speed of around 7000mbps write And read speeds. I want to get this laptop to game some what decently as I have been doing tons of cloud gaming and all sorts of gaming from all my devices.

@ItsBinhRepaired shortly after writing that review my laptop died. I took it all apart and couldn't fix it. I have a little knowledge on using a micrometer to test the resistance and voltage and it seems there's a short some where and I think I have it isolated to where it's shorted. Whats weird is I was doing a huge usb drive clone job and it was getting super hot (the drive in the usb enclosure which was a ssd was what was getting super hot) right after that is when it failed so I'm wondering if maybe it pulled to many amps for too long and friend something in the usb side of the power rail. I saved everything cause I'd really like to get it fixed one day but seeing as the laptop was sucking performance wise from the day I bought it I decided to instead of fixing it go for a used gaming desktop from around the same period of my laptop. Ended up with a alienware aurora r7 for $360 that came with a i7 8700 watercooled and a nvidia gtx 1080ti and despite that hard ware being older it works so much better then what I had in the laptop which was a i7 8665u I believe. The new one is 6 cores and 12 threads so more cores and threads then the old laptop plus a much much higher clock. Mine for some reasons constantly hangs around the max boost clock speed of about 4.3ghz constantly even at idle. It surprised me by just how well it plays games. My laptop had the crappies nvidia graphics card u can get I feel with the mx150 and I was sold it as a gaming laptop but it could literally barely run even the lightest of games. This new pc runs games at 1080p all high settings and gets 120fps all day long and then can even run a few games at 4k with frs activated. So happy I went the route I went and also will never buy a pc brand new ever again. I've learned so much just from this one experience. Now I know what to look for in cpus and what not going forward. I might eventually build a budget amd rig or intel rig using newer but still used parts so I can keep the costs down. I want to get a rig that can run a 40 series card effectively. Mines can probably do it for some games but seeing as it's limited to pcie x8 speeds which was dumb of them to do it doesn't really make sense to use a better card in my set up unless I plan to upgrade it eventually which I do. So plan is to first buy the gpu test it with my current set up, I'm sure gpu intensive games and 4k will run better with it still and then when I can afford to switch it over to either a i9 set up 12th gen or newer or a amd am5 with 3d cache. I'm nervous about going with amd though as I've heard they can be buggy.
