I think you need to disable Free sync to enable MPRT. Tnx for video on this unit, am looking in to HP X34 also.

Works super well with my 6750 XT. Been with my setup for about a year an 2 months now, and it’s crisp.
@VeeHausen
@VeeHausen Жыл бұрын
To run MPRT, you may have to disable Freesync but beware, it usually lowers your peak brightness. As for sharpness, it's usually the same for every other monitor, HP just uses a different naming scheme. Most monitors use a 0-100, where default is at 50 percent. Where zero percent will make fonts look fuzzy and at 100 percent, the text will look over sharpened or "fringing" artifacts around the fonts.

Thanks for the informative video. May I know how you were able to enable 2k@165hz, I'm max at 144hz at that resolution. I tried turning off both HDR and Adaptive Sync. I assume you use Custom Resolution Utility? Yes I did change cables to DisplayPort and set it to DisplayPort 1.4. Anything helps, thanks for considering to respond.
@tminustoday

If you are already using a DP cable I'm not sure what that issue would be. Make sure you are using a cable that supports the latest DP version and have a card that also supports that resolution and speed. Good luck!

Thank you for posting this excellent quality review. I picked this up (well, it'll get here in 3 days 😬) because the specs looked good, and best buy had it on sale for $230. Since I bought it online, sight unseen, I have been a little nervous. My old monitor has something like 8ms response time, and I've never used a monitor with a fast response time, so even if HP is lying by a factor of 6, (I,e, this HP has a 6ms r.t.) I hope I'm not getting a worse experience. My old monitor is from 2013 and it was a cheap 22 inch "almost 1080p" 1920x1050 60hz clunker. Since you had the only video review I could find of this product, I much appreciate the content. Happy holidays! I am a little confused. I thought low response time was good. And the listed specs for this monitor was 1ms. I know all tech KZbinrs get way too many people asking questions that the askers should really be looking upon google themselves. However, what I find on Google is that low response times are good (esp. for gaming and action movies). So feel free not to answer this question cuz it maybe is dumb, or obvious. I just don't understand the issue maybe. Either way, thanks.

@@Apollo71what a coincidence. yeah, lots of good prices lately due to holidays (except for graphics cards). Monitors are a tough thing to review because everyones eyes are different. I hope you enjoy yours when you get it shipped. Mine is late because a flight was delayed (says UPS). Let me know what you think of it, if you don't mind. I'm not a high-end user, and my old monitor was only 22 inches and 60hz, so I think I'll be happy enough with the HP.

Looking to upgrade to this from a Pixio PX248 mainly for the higher 1440p resolution and 165hz refresh rate. Only concern is response times but I feel like they are still acceptable for the average gamer? I mostly play AAA games at high res max settings on a controller.

@@tihseht472 Actually I ended up spending a little bit more on the GIGABYTE M27Q-X which is 27 inches 240hz. Overall I like it. But its not perfect. Dead pixel (quality control is kinda bad with this panel) but honestly 240hz is sooo much smoother even compared to 165hz its a noticeable difference. For around $450 its a STEAL for 240hz if you're willing to gamble on dead pixels. I have an RX 6800 XT so probably I could've went with 4K. Though the trade off in resolution for the higher refresh rate is worth it. For 1440p, 27 inches is the sweet spot imo. 32 inches 1440p is just too low of a pixel density. If you're gonna stick with 165hz, go with the X27q, or something from LG.

how does the stopwatch response time measurement work? isn't the HP monitor showing a more recent image (closer to reality)? the vg248qe definitely seems faster in transitions, since there's basically no video frame in which it's transitioning between 2 numbers - the HP can be caught transitioning slowly many times - but it seems like it's getting a slightly outdated image from the GPU

Not an expert but have been researching a ton as I'm in the market as well. What I've gathered about the ps5 is that it doesn't run 2k natively as it only does 1080p n 4k natively. There is a patch coming I believe but from I understanding at 2k it will be at 60hz untill a game ur playing supports 120 fps n then it will run 120. You can test that in Fortnite on console by Turing fps counter on the in Fortnite in game settings. Hope that helps as this monitor stuff with companies lying left n right can be a nightmare for even slightly above average knowledgable consumers.

The X32 panel was actually a BOE panel that I had. You can see what panel type you have by powering off the monitor and pressing and holding the top menu and bottom power button for a few seconds to power the monitor back on. After powering it on that way you can go to the menu and see a service option where you can see the panel type!
