HP8640B unit3 RF Generator .5 to 512Mhz AM/FM Modulation

The HP8640B has been a Legendary RF Generator for over 40 years. It has been the referenced standard for 100's of other products, has been used by NASA, the Department of Defense, Ham operators, Aircraft engineers and more. In this video I introduce the unit, expose the interior during cleanup and cal, then I run a series of tests to deomonstrate its performance over the RF ranges, Attenuation ranges, and FM and AM modulation settings. I have a HP 8640B with no RF output. The Power meter light does not turn on. The unit turns on but no RF output and no counter output movement when the internal frequency dial is turned. The power supply LEDs are and no -5.2VDC. I removed the RF Divider Filter Assemble and the -5.2 VDC is correct. Can you please provide suggestions on what is drawing the voltage down to 0VDC? The rectifier boards and filter caps are good. Al

You used an external frequency doubler to get to 1GHz. How would you compare that unit to the HP 8640's "Option 002", which I understand is a "plug-in card". If I had this card, could I install it myself? With your external doubler, how did you get the display to show correctly? Is there a counter jack on the rear panel?
