Just got my conversion today for my Canebreak, and I'm glad I did!!! I'm running 8.4 grain crosman destroyers thru my gun while getting one inch groups at around 30 yards. Maintenance is a very important factor when keeping an airgun happy.. you must clean, oil, and make sure you have quality optics if you're going to dial in for a true accuracy test😉. Most pellet gun owners lean towards lead, and not lead-free pellets...in which will dirty up your barrel and breech faster than you know. This is not good for rifled barrels😏. Also make sure you find a true projectile that your airgun tends to show it's most consistent accuracy, without sacrifice of muzzle velocity (= FPE) and a FPS in flight. Heavier weight in pellets tend to have more kinetic energy upon impact of a target, but if you don't have the power to push them accurately past 40 yards while maintaining FPS in flight...in my opinion is pointless in using them. Find your happy medium, and you can achieve an accurate airgun. Lighter pellets move faster, but without the right aerodynamics of your projectile.....you loose stability quickly in flight. HPA conversion is the way to go though, and yes the Canebreak has the same exact Internals as the Virtus. You're welcome 😊

Way cool video! I was actually loading up my belts for my Virtus while going thru Canebrake videos..🤣 Got an old co2 MCX and a Virtus myself. Love both rifles. Would now want a Canebrake also. After buying the Virtus and an adapter for 88g co2 cartridge threads, I could now "go HPA" directly with the Canebrake. I have not bothered with my MCX though - since it has no large plenum for efficient use of air - but I kinda think this Canebrake do have it as is already. The old MPX/MPXs had sucha thin transfer gasline that it seems to affect easily the airflow and not always cock the rifle between shots. Maybe higher pressure would help with that - but I have not tried it out even my Virtus' airtank gives now out about 1400psi/95bar. I did have a longer firing pin on my co2 MCX once. Shot way badass - but only for about 15 shots or so (using a 12g cartridge and adapter (30rds max shotcount per cartridge)) - then the co2 cooled down and the power started dropping fast. As new my co2 MCX shot about 8 magazines worth with one 88g cartridge. No idea though how many shots this Canebrake shoots with a 88g cartridge..

Hi. Thanks for the comment. The HPA kit is ok in short bursts; just don’t fill it and expect it to hold air for months on end. There is a specific Canebreak now made which is designed for HPA and compressed air as opposed to C02; if you’re thinking of getting one I’d opt for that

Something to tuck away in the back of your mind: when reverting back to CO2, you might find that accuracy improves. I read on another channel that the internals are tuned to be optimal with pressures provided by CO2, even though they work with HPA. Just a thought. Nice review! Carry on...

I take it you’re US based? You can get the conversion kits from Air Venturi or Pyramid Air. Or look on EBay as I’m sure there’s suppliers on there selling them. Be warned though as it does add weight to the rifle and also extends the rear out making it harder/less comfortable to shoot from the shoulder, at the cost of converting it to PCP and saving money on 88g C02 or even 12g C02 ( but you’ll need to buy the converter I showed for that)

Cracking review and feedback. Do you find whilst the HPA bottle is connected, it's a bit awkward shouldering the rifle? I have yet to transition to HPA. Also, what is the HPA output pressure configured at for your bottle? Air Venturi has a kit regulated at 1100 PSI output. If I recall, a CO2's output pressure is in the ~800 PSI range, depending on ambient temperature.
@SendItVibes3 жыл бұрын
Not a bad review at all. Couple of things, some advice you didn't ask for, so take it for what it's worth to you. The HPA conversion will offer a higher consistency with a lower deviation across the shot string/magazine. Also, it won't freeze the internals when dumping mags like a co2 version will. The flip-up sights that came with this weapon from Sig Sauer are great out to 75 yards but I wouldn't recommend this weapon for any range past that. This is perfect for "close-combat" drills, typically ranges between 10-30 yards. This is designed by Sig Sauer to be an exact replica of the firearm version, length, weight, everything is the same with the exception of the size of the magazine. If you are going to mount a scope or any type of optics to this weapon I would suggest a simple reflex sight or a laser. Looking through a scope limits your field of view unless you are a seasoned shooter using both eyes open looking through the scope for target acquisition and then closing one quickly for the kill shot. The suppressor is placed there to simulate the weight distribution on the firearm version. Try not to forget, while very fun to shoot and capable of doing a little damage, this is generally considered a "training tool" for the firearm version, as are most of Sig's "air-arms division" weapons. The little silver "key" included with the weapon from Sig Sauer is used to seat the ammo, adjust windage, adjust elevation on the supplied sights, which are moderately accurate when dialed in correctly. Last but not least is the ammo you are firing. Try to put various weights through it and see what kind of results you get. You'll find the cheaper the ammo, for whatever reason, the more accurate it is coming out of that weapon. Also, not sure if you were resting the weapon for your shot strings on that paper, but, if you were standing or firing from the shoulder, your grip choice will actually decrease your accuracy as it off-centers your lead hand on the weapon. While it looks great, using a tactical grip takes lots of rounds of experience to really hone in your accuracy. I would remove it and go with either a vertical grip/bi-pod or no grip at all and a good 70/30 hold as far out on the weapon as you can comfortably get your arm. 70% of your grip under the weapon and on the side, 30% (mostly your thumb) over the top of the weapon. This will allow you to move the weapon quickly from target to target AND stop on target quickly to fire. Good luck to you, keep on shootin'! #SendItVibes

Thanks for the very detailed comments. Really appreciate your insight. I shot rested to get those groups and I’m still as young say finding my way with this rifle. It’s definitely a close range tool and I love the realism in weight and feel. I wish the mags had the same level of realism rather than the cheap plastic approach used. Also the conversion to HPA means I save on 88g CO2, but st the cost of the extended rear ended, which isn’t as comfortable nor easy to shoot from from the shoulder, but I’m sure practice will breed familiarity and perfection. Thanks again and please keep posted to the channel. Really appreciate detailed insights from experts and enthusiasts such as yourself :)

Great video mate, I've just picked up a Canebrake so will definitely look into the HPA conversion. Quick question - does that dual 12g Walther adaptor work with rifle? I'd read elsewhere that with the other Sig variants (MCX/MPX) they wont fit without some fettling of the cartridge port on the rifle? I assume Vector Air sold that with the rifle so I am hoping it fits without issue on the Canebrake 🤞🏻

I had this gun. It was great fun. Sig Sauer Air guns are very cool looking, very nice pellet replica's of thier real life firearm counterpart. Unfortunately, they lack severely in power. Never shooting more than 350 to 385 FPS. So not fun. It gets pretty old shooting cans at the power. I eventually tried different options, I tethered off a larger air tank, and removed some shims from the valve stem, to give it 1150 p,s.i and still couldn't get it above 400 fps on a good day, even with the increase in psi. It did give out on me after shooting it for about 3 days , the valving just is so weak, it couldn't handle it. Returned it for another thinking maybe it was just that particular gun, nope, 2 days of shooting, and the valves pooped out on me once again. After that I purchased a real PCP air gun, and never looked back at any non PCP bb or pellet gun again. That's my take on this gun. Weak, LOw powered teen toy. Sorry mate, not bagging on you or your fun with it. Have a great one!

Want a masterful tip on the Sig Sauer MCX and related rifles? Take your money and throw it in a fire. They look and feel and actually shoot really well, right up until they don't. Thi E innards ofthis system are cheap and shitty and Sig KNOWS it, and does nothing to fix it or remedy the issue. Junk. I got about 800 pellets out of my .177 MCX and she quit. Using only premium pellets at the prescribed weight, Sig's 90 gram C02 and was impressed until the thing shit the bed like everyone said it would. Oh sure! They'll warranty the rifle, and hereplacement will fail in the same way.

Ur scope is backwards rookie
@zubysan2 жыл бұрын
No it isn’t. Take a closer look! I reversed the mount so I could bring the scope more towards the rear of the rifle to get the eye relief I needed, due to the fact that the HPA kit adds extension onto the rifle (as I stated in my video), from the rear butt to where the scope resides. So a simple flip of a one-piece mount fixed the problem so I can get eye relief when I shoulder it. So, a rookie I am not. :)
